Alecto didn’t know what they were doing upstairs, but it sounded disgusting. And rather painful. She would have been tempted to go and have a look if she didn’t strongly suspect that stepping through the bedroom door would put her in the centre of the damage/splat zone.
Thus, she stayed down here, letting the boys have their fun and getting increasingly annoyed by the muggle contraption that kept playing music at her. The same song, over and over and over. It wouldn’t have annoyed her if it was playing different tunes - or even good tunes. That would have just added to the general ambience. No, it had to play the same one over and over again until her damned foot was tapping and she knew the words.
I hope you’re in as much pain as I am right now, you hopeless wretch, she kicked the leg of a dining chair, trying to break the tune out of her head.
Stepping over the limbs of the first to have fallen - the only person capable of defending the house - Alecto plucked the broken wand from the dead woman’s fingers, briefly mourning the waste of decent craftsmanship until a flash of red flew past her shoulder, destroying the muggle music box in a shower of sparks. Already wielding her own wand, she had uttered the Killing Curse before giving it a second thought. The figure crumpled in the doorway, and she stared at it for a moment before confiscating that wand as well.
On the way out, she turned to one of her colleagues. “Had you any idea there would be wizarding children in the immediate vicinity?” Negative. She shrugged. “No, neither had I.”
