at long last

FRIDAY:
last minute mock bar practise of case 2, aka the crown vs. smith. punctuated by hilarious stories of laura's cats having a yellow face. everyone starts feeling a bit better about the whole thing.

then david met me after school and there was lots of hugging and "i missed you so much". and i did miss him. five days was a long time. so then we both walked up to his house and he was a absolute gentleman and took my bag for me, which was severly weighed down by a "years of renewal" history textbook. when we got back to his house, carole (david's wonderful mother) made us both a lovely pasta tea, with cheesecake for desert.

then david thought up the worst excuse in the history of the world ("mum, katie and i are going to my room because i said that i'd play her the first libertines album") for us to go up to his room and so we snuggled up in his bed for a while. actually we ended up listening to the smiths. then we went to see the new bridget jones film and which was very good and very funny.

TODAY -
the mock bar trial finally happened and i have to say that the shottery team kicked some serious ass. we won all of our cases on points and two of the verdicts. we even got the teacher who hit a student sent down, although i was quite an evil cross examiner on that one. at one stage the witness actually apologised to me for her evidence (or lack of).

plus, we beat kes, which is the important thing. it was actually fun to be against them, although it was a bit odd questioning jason and calling him sam smith. kes were really good, and it was a bit of a shame we had to beat them. all the boys on the team were really nice, especially mike turner (who was really nervous, actually trembling, despite being a great barrister, bless him) and tom heggarty (who i think had a soft spot for harriet), who we befriended and conspired with against the other schools in our section.

we ended up winning out little league, but not the big one, so we didn't get through to the final, which was a shame. especially as i wanted to hear harriet say she lived at 69 canal street or have caiti list all the programmes she was watching with sam smith ("the bill, rumpole of the bailey, judge john deed, perry mason, judge judy, law and order"). the good side about losing is that i can actually get my life back! once i get through all my homework that is...

tomorrow is play rehearsal and seeing david. so it's all good.
