PART 1: Lair of the Grey Dorks
Life is getting complicated so I'd better start taking notes to make sure I keep my lies consistent. Also considering my travelling companions this is the closest I'm shall have to intelligent conversation.
Firstly a brief summary of my companions;
Archie- A Death Knight who's powers have somewhat diminished; of sardonic and depressed disposition. For some reason I want to call him Marvin.
Greeryik- A Gnoll Warrior who mainly wants to kill things and eat them though not necessarily in that order
Tik Tik- A Kobold Spell Caster, I'm not sure what type of Spell Caster he is but then again I don't think he is either
Shyamala- A Rakshasa Bard, who unsurprisingly knows much but surprisingly doesn't want to eat anyone.
Jocaste- A human ghost who mostly inhabits the body of a comatose Drow. No I don't understand it either
Quaggoth named Derendril - whose stated background is interesting but whose real background is likely more interesting.
2 Kobolds of some utility who would look good in red shirts.
1 Female Dwarf of slightly more utility whose going to die and knows it
Useless Teifling
Having left the Troglodytes' settlement as it was about to be gatecrashed by a Demon Lord we proceeded on to Gracklestugh, the City of the Grey Dwarves, as it was one of the few places we could acquire much needed equipment. The thought of meeting Duergar did not fill me with joy. Many races in the Under-dark consider themselves superior to all others. None however take it to such extremes as the Duergar and with such little justification.
Shyamala, our feline Rakshasa Bard, led us to a back entrance where our unusual party might attract less attention. We encountered a bunch of dead bodies near a small pool. Unsurprisingly they got up and attacked us. We returned the favour. Well the Death Knight - clearly thinking the whole thing beneath him - simply got one of our opponents to fight for him. Unfortunately our party's disparate nature in general and our Gnoll's over-enthusiasm in particular led to poor co-ordination. So I was forced to use my clerical powers to send our opponents fleeing. We are really going to have to work on combat strategies against multiple opponents. (Note to Self; Millee doesn't do much against poison immune undead, my bad). Examining the dead undead we found several quantities of what appeared to be narcotic drugs and a cryptic note (plus a bag of holding which is a real plus).
We entered the city through the basement of a bathhouse and came to an area known as the Sump. This is an area for everything the city needs but would rather not know about. We met a Duergar named Sach that was Shyamala's friend. He was so un-duegar-like as to cause enough cultural shock that I confided in him our current situation almost truthfully.
He advised us to see a merchant he knew - names Ambrosh - who would take the drugs, tell us about them and sell us stuff including local id papers, just preferably not in that order. So I went off with our Kobold spell caster Tik Tik and our ghostly human Jocaste inhabiting the Comatose Drow. The other members would attract too much attention. Note the city was clearly on edge (Demonic invasions will do that). We got to the Merchant's shop only to get no answer from the front door. We went round to the back and found the back door unlocked. Entering we found the body of a dead Ogre in the kitchen. Approaching it carefully, expecting it to rise up at any second I was totally surprised by its shadow attacking me (sigh). Slaying with some difficulty, much pain and a little help from Tik Tik I took a rest while the others searched the place. They found a secret passage behind a trapped door leading to a secret room and the body of a dead merchant.
Now how do we get in without me getting killed?
Note; there is apparently a missing Drow who is involved in this named Seanhan.
