1. I have a small piece of skin missing on my right forearm, it is surrounded by a large bruise. I have no idea how I did this or when. It doesn't hurt.
2. Southampton Station was flooded when I got there yesterday. This meant I had to get a replacement bus part of the way home, but still made it door to door in 4 hours, which is shorter than the journey I had on Friday when everything went as planned. It had not occurred to me to check if the trains were running, I'd been more concerned about the Red Jet, next time I will check both.
3. Bacchus finally managed to get his camera to talk to the computer and so has managed to download the 836 pictures he has been collecting up over the past 9 months. A very small percentage of them are cute cat photos, which I will get round to posting at some point. The rest were wine-related and will not be posted apart from maybe the one of the devil's shadow.
4. My mother is coming to visit tomorrow for the first time in over 2 years. Bacchus has managed to time a trip to Germany and a Stag night in Brighton to coincide with most of her visit... He did do an excellent job of tidying the house while I spent the weekend partying though, so I can't really complain. I am slightly nervous as to what Mum will think of the house, it really isn't much different to the last time she came. Hopefully she won't be too critical, since much of my holiday time was spent visiting them while my Dad was ill, rather than on house renovations.
5. The council informed us over the weekend that they are coming to remove the graffiti on the side of our house sometime in the next 3 weeks. When they say *they* are coming, it means sub-contractors, who may be sub-contractors of sub-contractors, but whoever comes, we're not to give them any money as apparently our council tax has already paid for the service. The council has obviously had a change in policy as last time I checked they didn't do graffiti removal on private property for free, so we've never bothered to contact them about it. They have having a big clean-up at the moment though, I remain sceptical as to how long it will stay clean, but at least we don’t have to pay for it directly.
6. The cats will not let us have a net curtain over the back door. I have tried 3 different methods of fixing it up and they've pulled each one down. They are not going to win this war, there will be a curtain up there. My next ploy is going to involve superglue...
EDIT: 7. My department have started a lottery syndicate. Almost everyone else has joined, so in the interests of not being the one left out, I have joined too, despite having previously never ever bought a lottery ticket in my life. The organiser was very excited to have a lottery virgin in the syndicate and thinks this is very lucky... I have tried to explain the concept of probability to them, but it would seem that basic principles evade people when you factor in the very slight chance of them getting money *headdesk*
