IC:
Character name: Lithuania [Toris Laurinaitis]
Fandom: Axis Powers Hetalia
Timeline: Around the 1960s after the Cuban Missile Crisis
Age: 19 (appearance wise)
~*Magical*~ abilities and strengths: The power of friendship and weak stomachs. He doesn’t have any magical super powers, he’s just a simple nation. He can probably like clean and cook since Russia and Poland probably made him do all of that. Back in the days during the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth Lithuania was quite the warrior and could win just about any battles with his bff Poland. Until Russia came along and snatched Liet away while Poland just laughed and laughed at Liet’s apparently stupid face. He’s also quick to make friends?
Appearance: Toris is the tallest brother of the Baltics, although in some comics, Estonia appears to be slightly taller. (Either way, they are pretty close in height.) However, neither are taller then Russia. He has shoulder-length hair colored a dark brown. Obviously he is a male. Usually he is wearing his green military uniform. Also if you happen to ever walk in on him while he is taking a shower or a bath, don’t be surprised to find his back etched with scars.
Background/Personality: Lithuania has a lot of patience. And it’s a good thing too or else he wouldn’t be able to deal with Poland and Russia’s daily antics and somewhat childish behavior. While usually friendly and serious (and a serious introvert), he thinks a bit too much into situations and as a result would get depressed about it and end up with a stomachache. It doesn’t help to say that his stomach is pretty weak (which is also why he uses different flavors of ketchup and condiments of the sort). Somehow, the nation also winds up being easy to take advantage of. (Although some of it he doesn’t mind as seen by America and sometimes Poland.) Despite a weak stomach and being easily taken advantage of, Liet is actually a strong warrior and can be charismatic and brave when needed. Finland once commented that Lithuania was one of the best fighters and could easily rally morale into his troops. Lithuania also happens to be Russia’s ‘favorite’ but this did not mean he was well treated. Oh no. In fact it’s actually quite the opposite. Apart from being treated this way and being taken advantage of, Lithuania is the oldest brother of two little brothers (he ignores them in favor of Poland at times). He tries he best however to make them happy despite their conditions that they constantly live under.

To briefly summon his background history I am just going to summon what has happened in the comics or else this could drag on forever. In the 15th century Poland and Liet faced off against the Teutonic Knights and Prussia (their leader.) Which they won after Lithuania saved Poland. Sometime later during the 17th century the Polish-Swedish Wars occurred, although Poland and Lithuania didn’t have to fight anyone on account of Sweden retreating. (Upsetting Finland but that’s for someone else to write about.) However it isn’t long before the Second Polish-Swedish war happens and ends in defeat for Poland unfortunately. I’m unsure when exactly Russia came around or what war it’s related to historical wise but I think it was during one of the partitioning of Poland when Liet was taken away by Russia where he ends up staying and becoming the taller nation’s favorite. Upon being Russia’s favorite, he has earned himself many scars from the other’s cruel child-like games, some that are old battle scars but many are from Russia.

There’s a big gap here in history that Hetalia hasn’t exactly done yet but it should be known that Lithuania and the other two Baltic countries have shared the same fate of being under Germany’s rule and then Russia’s rule a handful of times especially during the World Wars where he declared independence at one point and sought the help of others before Russia quickly took over his lands again. (Before the Great Depression, he was working for America but it was cut short when Russia took him back home after the GD fell upon America.) And although I am taking him during Soviet times, it should be noted that after the fall of the Soviet Union that he went to America and Poland for help to rebuild and recover.

1st person sample: [There is a slight pause as he turns on the audio. Having to fumble with it from the way he was in his current state which you all will find out about soon enough. And after a moment he realizes that he has successfully turned gotten the communicator turned on. And he sighs of relief that it wasn’t broken.]
O-oh good, it’s finally on isn’t it? I was starting to worry that it might have gotten broken. I almost dropped it and I was afraid that catching it might have damaged it somehow. But, um, anyways I was wondering if anyone, by any chance, could help me down from the ceiling? I would have asked Russia or Belarus or Ukraine but they aren’t around oddly.
[There’s an exasperated sigh, almost as if Lithuania had been expecting this to happen.]

Well, if anyone could help me get down it would be much appreciated and I’ll try to return the favor as soon as possible. But right now I don’t think my stomach can keep up with this anymore…

3rd person sample: To many red was the symbol of many emotions. To some it was passionate feelings, to others it was determination or boldness, to most it was anger and hatred, and to the unfortunate; pain. It represented something different each day, as if the color had a personality of its own. Red was also the icon of many symbols. The blood of the people, the color in the flag of one’s nation, the ones who are heroic and brave, to the ones who dared to start a new beginning and perhaps even Communism.

Lithuania has experienced all of red’s symbols and her emotions. He is a nation and he has seen it all. In the best of times, the worst of times, and in the stillness of time, wherever he went he could find red whether it be a good kind of red or a bad kind of red. Red could not be forgotten very easily. She didn’t hide and was easy to find if you knew where to look and what to do to get to her. Ask this in a conversation with Lithuania and he would tell you how hard it is to forget about the scarlet color. He has the scars of what red has done, what she is, and who she has manipulated in time.

Old battle scars were one thing. Lithuania has them. But he does not need scars to remember the bravery of his people, or the blood that has been shed, in times of wars. He is proud of the Lithuanians both of their heroic actions and their determination in battle. Red also reminds him of their blood split for independence, their courage, and their love for their country. Just like the Lithuanian flag.

And all of this brings the Baltic nation to think about those brave people. The heroes who dared to start new for themselves and the people who shared something in common with them. The daring people who had created him, and raised him. He would never forget people with such valor. It angers him that he cannot protect his people from the tyrant leader of the Soviet Union. (The ones who wished to make them conform to Communism.) It means he is not as strong as his people are and he has homed them for over centuries. That he could not protect their freedoms, beliefs, the fields, their homes or their children. Every day it troubles him to face his people from time to time while visiting them when Russia had allowed him to leave the palace. It is aching to stare into the death of the nation, even more so into the eyes of lost hope and it makes his stomach flutter with butterflies to look the heroes of war in their faces. He knows he is a nation and he would do anything to protect his people as much as possible from the evils of red. Even if it meant carrying it all on his own back.

But if there is one wish that he could have under the household of the madman, Russia, it is for the Communist to leave his people alone. Let him take all the pain in their stead. Let him be the one whipped for their revolts against the bad government that he has so carelessly allowed to slip pass his defense. To be punished and hated by Russia whenever the Lithuanian people declared their independence. If his people could hold on for just a while longer, and he knows he can because they are strong like the color red. Then they can take down Communism and the Soviet Union together. But waiting is half the challenge and rather painful. Almost as hurtful as the crimson cuts along his back, Lithuania knows how much agony waiting can be.

Today, Lithuania has decided; the wait is over. He will take into his hands the power of red and personally stand up against Russia. He is going to take the flag of yellow, green and red and wave it fearlessly alongside his people to remind the world what red feels to them and how red symbolizes themselves. Red is the color of strong emotions after all.

Questions?: Can Lithuania have a couple of spare towels? There might be serious bleeding and he might have to sleep on the floor.
