Art Part I

May 23, 2005 23:53

So, I guess it's finally time I start putting some of my artwork up...like I said I would.  Though, very few people read this. Least I know u would appreciate it, Chan. :)

After Cadmus:  Had to do an Oldmaster Study for class....I picked the awesome Paul Cadmus to work from.  He has the most incredible drawings of the figure, esp. the male nude if you ever wanna check him out.  Plus, he cross-hatches, which is my thing too, so i chose him.  And I just loved how intense this felt, how the figure is hunched over, seeminly constrained by the proportions of the paper.
This is 19 X 22, Charocol and Conte Crayon on tonal, Canson Pastel  paper.
**Note: Yeah, that one hand looks kinda funky..but I was trying to copy as accurately as possible.

Vulnerability:  The meaning of this can just go on and on.  If you want an explanation on this one, let me know.  Sorry, I'm too lazy to type it out at the moment.  But it began as a muscle study for a drawing class.
