[Sigmund is kneeling on the floor, next to a wooden crate with a blanket in it, holding at eye level a red puppy that appears to be more fluff than pup. They seem to be in the middle of a staring contest.
[.....Um. Sigmund + dog + staring contest is- well, actually, the only unusual part is the contestant in said staring contest. He's seen Sigmund glare down monsters, soldiers, and crazed religious madmen, but dogs? Not so much.
Should he just wait this one out or see who loses? He's kind of... morbidly curious, actually.]
[Since he is clearly not going to get this puppy to stay in the crate for more than half a minute - but it worked so well when it was sleepy! - he sets it down on the floor. It waddles over to Edward and starts sniffing around his feet.]
[The Malnosso gave Sigmund a puppy? Okay then :| Edward considers questioning it, but thinks better of it - what's the point? - and instead crouches down, offering his hand out to the puppy instead. If the animal's going to be living with them, may as well get acquainted.
Even if it looks more like a stuffed animal than a dog.]
[Hey! Just because it has some babyfat is no reason to think it is not a mighty canine warr- ...ahem.]
I don't know what to do with a dog.
[A dog that gives Edward a few inquisitive sniffs, and then decides what will be really fun is chomping down on his pants leg and shaking it violently with playful little puppy growls. Or shaking itself violently, because Edward is a lot bigger and this plan was not really thought through very well.]
[Okay, now he's glad that he has loose pants. He'd felt a little strape of puppy teeth, and puppy teeth become big teeth before too long...
Gently he tugs the dog's mouth off his pants and offers his hand out again instead. If he's going to chew on something it might as well be mobile and less prone to tearing.]
All it really requires is food and attention, my lord. [.....] ...And some training.
The puppy responds to Edward's taking his new toy away with an unhappy little whine and snuffles around his hand some more. It's not even a little good for playing tug o' war with. Unfair. He lays his head in Ed's palm and bites at one finger with a disappointed puppy sigh. A huge, disappointed puppy sigh.]
[What in the world is all of that noise?]

Why do you have a dog?

Come see for yourself.

Not that knowing where Sigmund is will guarantee Ed's prompt arrival, all things considered... but he'll try.]

Edward heads right over, guided by sheer curiosity, and raps his knuckles on the door, poking in.]
My lord?

Yes, it is exactly that ridiculous.]

Sigmund just turns to look at Ed with... actually, Edward has probably given him that exact look before whenever the subject of Capell came up.]

Yyyyyeah. Harder than one might think.]
Is there... a reason for the dog being here, my lord?
