I'm really an Akira/Hikaru fan, but something from Akari's POV was begging to be written. I had two endings in mind when I wrote it and this one ended up being more suitable for it. Thanks!

Akari's one of the main characters oldest friends and she rarely gets the attention I think she deserves in fanfiction.

This drabble was awesome. It's cool how Akari seems to accept that Hikaru may never think of her as she thinks of him. If I'm not mistaken, this drabbles seems to lean towards the Hikaru/Touya pairing, yes? I'm more of a Hikaru/Akari fan though *gets pummeled to the ground by Hikaru/Touya fangirls*

I've never seen her as one to ignore or fight what's right in front of her. And yes, it's definately leaning in the Akira/Hikaru direction. I have a hard time pairing Akari with Hikaru for several reasons. One, he's really not good enough for her. He's more focused on the Go world and being Touya's rival and while Akari's there, she's on the fringes. Second, somewhere at the beginning of the middle of the series (there's a mouthful) Akari's own actions led me to believe that she only sees Hikaru as a friend. In the beginning I would definately say she has a crush on him, but in the anime at episode 27? -- I've forgotten what chapter it is in the manga -- when she tells Hikaru to go away and not return to the Go club because it might give Mitani reason not to come back struck me as the point where it was evident she was no longer interested in him that way.

Of course, it won't stop me from writing the Hikaru/Akari fic I've been promising myself I would. ^_^
