She knew he’d fight them till the day he died. There were just too many demons infesting his head, his body - his entire soul. She supposed she did not know even half of them.
And neither would he be obvious about it. As soon as someone noticed that something was bothering him, he would turn away and say curtly, "Nothing's the matter." By now she had learned not to be exasperated, because he was just that sort of person.
Yet she could not help but worry, and her worry came from a simple fact: one of his demons was real. It was a live human being, whose presence sometimes swirled too near the surface. A human being who one day would take its true form - a warrior whose skills and strength more than matched his. And when the day arrived, blood would not just be spilled but flow like crimson rivers.
And who could tell that a few drops of it would not be hers?
