By the time the limousine stopped in front of her house she had already decided where she would go first.

It slid across the corner, white, sleek, shadowed windows veiling the person behind the smoked glass. As it curved to a stop before her - narrowly missing skinning her knees, which, she felt (uncharitably), he must have intended - the window was lowered to a slit, blue eyes peering through.

"Are you coming?" His voice grated on her ears.

She grinned, flashed him a deliberately bright smile and tugged at the silver handle of the car door. "Of course. I'd never miss a school project."

"What possessed the idiot who teaches this class to partner me with you?"

"What were you saying?" Flash. Glitter. Beam.

A faint sigh, grating on the lungs. "Nothing. Just try to look as little like yourself as possible when you get in here." Lean shadows flickered behind the glass, and with a click, the car door oiled open.

Anzu Mazaki slid in (rough leather cool against her legs, reprieve from bright summer heat) and leaned back, her smile wide and open - the smile of someone enjoying herself. (Not, for instance, the smile of someone smiling because they knew that it would annoy him.)

Seto Kaiba, who knew very well exactly what it was, glowered at her from his seat across and leaned back himself to wonder what kind of teacher would assign a topic that basically amounted up to forcing a near-adult male human to accompany a juvenile cheerleader-type on a shopping expedition.

He wondered vaguely if he would survive the horrendous experience.
