Closet Monster
Wood.
The primary attribute for a board- a thin slick board with a very flat surface capable of overweighting odds as it floats above water and never sinks. The board that holds the potential boundaries of two knobs, two stilts, two hopes- two worlds.
A door.
A door, which judges the separation of each world and enhances its division.
Two worlds locked with a simply key and casted away into forgotten memories where children are the only ones who still dream of these incomparable distances between reality and abnormality.
A dream.
Hastily, stuffed away underneath the bed, hidden in the depths of cabinets and squished into the utterly oblivious tight space of a closet. The things people wish were nothing but dreams with just disturbing imaginations-a distant reality where the perfect life exists and in contrary, one’s own nightmares prances and sings in delighted grace.
Deep deep deep in the darkness.
Where it is born.
Where it is sleeping.
Where it wakes.
Where it’s hungry.
Quietly.
It’s waiting for a treat.

Sluggishly taking his luggage off the brackets, the brunette un-clicked the switch and pulled his baggage out of the shuttle. Barely greeted by a mass of people, he glanced around until his eyes landed on what he was looking for and smiled.
“Umma!”
An older woman looked up to him and quickly gave him a hug. “Aigo, Jaejoong. You’re back.” She gave him another squeeze on the back, which he wistfully returned. “Yes, Umma. I’m back.”
They exchanged a few more hugs until one of the station officers told them they had to move away from the boarding area before the shuttle takes off.
“How was your trip from Seoul? Are you hungry? Maybe we should get you something to ea- “
“I’m fine.” Jaejoong cut off. Honestly his trip has been a rollercoaster ride but explaining that to his mother right now would only take them an entire day before they actually leave the station and Jaejoong was tired of stations. Especially the long rides, noises and overdue inconsistencies whenever he traveled from one place to another. Not to mention, it made him whole-heartedly homesick quite hastily.
“Let’s just go home first, Umma and I’ll tell you all about it.” He flashed his goody-good boy smile and noticed his mother becoming subtly at ease.
“Oh, you’re right. Where are my manners?” She took hold of his arm and practically dragged them out of the station. “Junsu misses you so much. You should play with your brother too when we go home.”
Jaejoong nodded and smiled at his mother’s nonstop chatters about her day.
It was nice to go home again.
- ->
“Hyung!”
Junsu shouted once he spotted Jaejoong at the door. Speedily, making his way across his scattered toys, mingled in with some of his dirty clothes- which he knows he will be scolded for later. His mother already giving him frowns and stern looks but he didn’t care and made his way towards his brother.
“Hyung hyung you’re back! I miss you!” His little hands grabbed onto Jaejoong’s shirt and the elder handed him a few pats before ruffling his hair in a mess.
Jaejoong picked up his ten year-old brother and immediately the little boy was holding onto him like a sticky koala because obviously, Junsu was scared of heights. Tears began to spill from his eyes and Jaejoong almost wanted to put him back down- which he eventually did after convincing the younger boy that he was going to grow that tall someday and this is just a way to get use to it.
“So you’re staying for good this time, hyung?” Junsu questioned with his big eyes, tints of sparkles began to shine and it made Jaejoong laugh. “Yes, I’ll be staying home this time.” He mused.
A few years ago, Jaejoong moved out to Seoul and attended uni, graduating with his degree at hand and now working his way with a firm. Luckily for him, it was close to his home and he can finally catch up with all the gaps between his family and friends.
Though, it wasn’t like he never came home often but he needed to finish his studies in school before he was able to return home and successfully graduated.
“Why don’t you go clean up first, Jaejoong?” His mother suggested. “I’ll go make dinner and you can unpack your things.” Jaejoong nodded with a “Ok” taking his luggage up the stairs with a petite Junsu following behind.
He let his bags drop from his arms once he reached his old room. It was clean- almost spotless but with a few more dust flying here and there since he swung the door wide open. His mother probably cleaned it today, hence she was expecting him at the station and they came home together.
Idly, Junsu made his way towards Jaejoong’s bed, following his brother’s gaze around the room and guess what the elder man found so fascinating to look at.
It didn’t take long for the younger to become extremely bored and exiting without further adieu.
Jaejoong slumped onto his bed- previously occupied, his arms cushioning underneath his head and he stared at his old ceiling, reminiscing on his childhood memories in silent.
However, before he could dive farther into memory lane, his stomach growled.
Dinner sounds nice right now.
- ->
Nothing has changed.
Jaejoong thought as he rolled over on his old bed, still a bit on the stiff side but he’ll get use to it.
His bedroom looked the same with some slight modifications because he found some of his old books in boxes rather than neatly arranged onto his shelves. However, that didn’t mean he minded since there wasn’t really anyone around to read those books during his absences anyway.
He snuggled further onto his pillow, attempting to find a very comfortable position until he heard a creaking noise, which he would assume was his door- given there was light illuminating into his dark room.
There were some faint tiptoes, ones that took really small and cautious steps and Jaejoong could only guess it was probably his little brother.
“Hyung” Junsu called and Jaejoong inwardly praised he was right.
“Hyung, are you awake?” His brother whispered closely, as if trying to wake him up gently and Jaejoong was grateful he did because rushing him awake would only allow people to feel his wrath. Also, he didn’t want to impose that onto his little brother, who doesn’t even deserve the slightest scolding of his mostly absent brother.
“Mhhmm.” He groaned when his little brother woke him up the second time. “Wha’ do you want? Somethin’ happen?” He squinted at his door where the light continued to shine, even through the encased glass bulb.
“Hyung, c-can I sleep with you?” The younger boy asked hesitantly, fear evidently worn on his face and Jaejoong wonders what could be that bad in that little ten year-old boy’s mind.
“There’s a monster in my closet.”
A Monster.
Jaejoong bursted out laughing- not so openly of course, his hand was practically covering his mouth and his muffled giggles as he tried his best to look more serious when Junsu was on the edge of tears.
“Hey hey, it’s alright. You can sleep with me tonight.” He cooed, making room on his bed and pulling the covers open for his little brother. He patted the younger boy on the head and instantly his tears turned to sniffles as he crawled right in, snuggling himself right next to Jaejoong’s shoulder.
“What if the monster comes after me again, hyung?” Junsu whispered timidly and Jaejoong wouldn’t have caught it if the room wasn’t so quiet.
He turned to his younger brother and laid an arm over him, pulling the boy even closer. “Then I’ll beat it up. I won’t let it hurt you, ok?” His voice becoming lazily and sleepy at each passing moment and he hopes Junsu doesn’t realize he can only hear half of what he’s saying.
“Promise?”
“Promise. Now go to sleep.” Jaejoong assured and Junsu buried his face on his brother’s shoulder, his own little arms wrapped around the elder’s side and he fell asleep.
- ->
It was a bit past midnight when Jaejoong hears Junsu screaming and shaking him frantically to wake up.
The younger boy’s eyes landing strangely on something in the dark room and Jaejoong hurriedly turned the light switch on only find it wouldn’t turn on.
He pushed it repetitively, however nothing changed and he cursed inwardly.
Hastily, he grabbed onto his younger brother, who luckily buried his face into his chest rather than struggling to run away because Jaejoong still doesn’t notice what his little brother is seeing that will make him so freight-
There was something in the room.
A shadow moved against the wall and Jaejoong was glad the walls of his brother’s room were bright or he wouldn’t have seen it move.
Not a moment later, he heard some noise of someone tripping over something on the floor and it cursed out loud.
It wasn’t long before Jaejoong noticed the lights flashed back on and there was a man standing in the middle of the room, his face flashing with shock and horror until he froze. Not moving a single inch and Jaejoong gulped because he wasn’t sure if the said person was about to do something to them anytime soon.
So he moved first.
He threw one of his slippers and watch it hit the man on the forehead with a ‘ow!’ successfully inflicting damage onto his target, he pried Junsu off and quickly threw a fist at the man.
The lights went off again and Junsu let out an immediate scream while Jaejoong attempted to punch out the living daylights-literally- from the man through the darkness.
“Take that! You stalker! Burglar! Bastar-!!”
The lights came back on and Jaejoong realize he was punching a large stuff animal, undoubtedly owned by his little brother and he heard Junsu scream again.
His brother was basically cornered against the wall in a crying mess while the man walked closer and closer to him. He was almost within reach when Junsu made another shout for his brother and Jaejoong tackled the strange man, who inevitably hit the wall with a yelp.
“I’m not going to hur- “
“Get away from him!” Jaejoong yelled, throwing punches as the man flail and tried to cover himself, eventually finding an opening and pinning Jaejoong down to the floor.
“I’m not going to hurt him!” The strange man said loudly and clearly however, Jaejoong was reluctant to give in. “Liar!” He struggled to break free but to no avail he stayed put, unable to shove the person off him because for some reason he weights more than a few tons.
“I’m not lying.” The man said sternly, a serious expression imprinted on his face and Jaejoong nearly believed him.
“We’ll see about that after I call the cops.” He threatened, even though the person above him didn’t seem to react to it, Jaejoong tried kicking his way out again.
It only took a few minutes when eventually the brunette stopped, out of breath and out of ways to get this fucker off of him.
It didn’t help either that Junsu was no longer moving on his bed or the bastard could have possibly done something to him that he wasn’t even aware of. Dammit.
“Who are you?” Jaejoong suddenly questioned, catching the person by surprise and just when the brunette thought it was another opportunity to escape, his arms were still pinned down to the floor. Shit.
“No one. Just a pedestrian-”
“Pedestrian, my ass. This house isn’t a road.”He huffed and now that Jaejoong got a better look at his offender with the half-ass lamp light, the man’s face was actually pretty- if anything, handsome. Even though half of his face was practically hidden in shadow, the person actually had some nice features along with his that succulent lip-
Wait, no.
He shook his head anxiously and his offender noticed. “If I let you go, will pretend you never saw me?” He asked, cautious to the fist Jaejoong might lay next on him.
“If you could give me a reason not to but I highly doubt it since you’re trespassing on private property here.” Jaejoong glared, sending shivers down the other’s spine, which he took delight in doing.
The person looked away and sighed. “Just promise you won’t. I’ll be sure to leave you alone after.”
Hesitantly, Jaejoong didn’t want to comply with the invader but he didn’t really have a choice since he didn’t want to stay pinned down to the floor all night long nor was his little brother going to wake up anytime soon. Also, it would take hours before someone hears him screaming for help because in the grave hours of the night, Jaejoong doubts his parents were ever light sleepers.
“Fine and you better not do anything sneaky or I’ll make sure you regret it.”
The man nodded in understanding and Jaejoong curiously wonders why he didn’t take advantage of his situation but he rather not think of that.
After he was release, he slowly got up, eyeing the man across from him as he inched closer to his bed to observe Junsu.
He was asleep and Jaejoong speculates how this little guy can just sleep through such noise and when his life was barely at risk. Inwardly, the brunette sighed, tucking his little brother in his bed and unaware of the other man still standing in the room.
It didn’t take long before he left.
- ->
Yawning, Jaejoong woke up stiff. His limbs were sore to the brim and he did multiple stretches to wake up his muscles. Also, making a mental note that he should change his mattress, considering it has been years since he last used it.
Junsu was already up and peeking into his room to tell him breakfast was ready, which Jaejoong was delighted to hear because he just had some crazy dream last night. Something about a stalker coming out of his closet and ambushing him in his sleep while he somehow pinned him down to the floor too.
Though he hasn’t dreamt about anything for awhile and Jaejoong is pretty sure his dream was good because it actually had a gorgeous gu-
Oh, no no no.
He liked girls, dammit, girls.
He shook his head, attempting to forget about those moist lips, which ironically a man in his dreams possessed and he quickly went to freshen up.
Even when he came down for breakfast, the image still wouldn’t leave him and his parents probably haven’t caught on to his dismay given that it hasn’t even been a day since he returned.
“Jaejoong, honey. Are you alright? Are you still tired from yesterday?” His mother asked, concern written all over his face and his father did a slow movement of his newspaper to take a peek.
“I’m fine, but I do need to get a new mattress. The one in my room is hard to sleep on.” And he wasn’t lying.
“Oh, then you can go to the store down the street. The one near your old school, remember?” His mother suggested, going off into her rants about where he could get the best price around. Nervously, Jaejoong smiled, noticing his father had resume reading his newspaper and Junsu was playing with his food from the corner of his eyes.
“Dear, it’s time to take Junsu to school.” Jaejoong’s father interrupted his mother and she gasped when she realize what time it was. “Omo! It’s already eight! C’mon Junsu, let’s go.”
His mother rushed out with a timid Junsu and she nearly forgot to close the door behind them.
Then his father closed his newspaper and left as well. “Don’t forget to lock up and turn everything off.” He mumbled quietly and followed out the door.
It was also times like these that Jaejoong was happy he didn’t have to begin his new job just yet.
- ->
It was in the evening when Jaejoong came back home after shopping for a new mattress. Surprisingly, his mother wasn’t wrong about the good prices and he was grateful to know there were still some ongoing sales. He even had enough time to grab a snack as he remember there were some deli right around the corner.
It was definitely good to be home.
By the time he walked through the front door, a handful of Junsu came running towards him “Hyung! Can you play with me, please? Mom wants me to go shower and I don’t wan- “
“Junsu! Come back here!” He heard his mother shout from upstairs and he discreetly held onto his brother tighter.
“I’m going to take Junsu to the playground. We’ll be back for dinner!” He called upstairs and even if his mother was bursting into a fit, he ignored it and went back outside.
It’s been awhile since he’s been to the playground after all.
- ->
Jaejoong fell onto his bed the first thing when he entered his room.
It was a long time since he took Junsu to the playground and they ended up with some scolding when they returned but it was alright. He hasn’t played with him for a long time and it was better than leaving him alone again when he just told him he would stay often.
He didn’t even shower yet- and not that it mattered because playing outside with Junsu would wear anyone out.
- ->
It was somewhere in the middle of the night when Jaejoong heard screams coming from his little brother’s room.
Rapidly, he got up and sped to his little brother’s room, tripping over some dirty clothes along the way as he swung his door hastily- a baseball bat at hand and he spotted the target, hitting the offender from behind.
“Ah!”
He fell.
Jaejoong turned on the lights and was greeted by the same guy from the other night. Shockingly, Junsu was still asleep from the entire ruckus and he probably got that from his parents, Jaejoong assumes.
- ->
The clock struck three in the morning when the attacker woke up and Jaejoong played with his baseball at hand. Fortunately grateful that he took baseball back in high school and he needed to get his own bat for practice.
‘Wh-what? W-where am I?” The person questioned mentally in his head and cautiously opened his small eyes to look around the unfamiliar- or was it a familiar room that he invaded the other night?
He tried to move however, his hands and feet were inevitably stuck together- tied down by a rope- or at least look like a rope but it was a belt.
It was precautions like these that Jaejoong had tied up the person’s hands and feet together, which another attribute he was grateful to learn during his youth or he would have just kicked the said man out by now.
He swung the bat in his hand, pointing it directly at the trespasser, “Why are you here? Didn’t you say the other day you would leave? What were you doing in my brother’s room?” He question, but inwardly he was playing twenty questions about ‘how the hell did this guy come back’ and ‘wasn’t this all a dream?’ Probably some shitty joke however, Jaejoong wasn’t laughing.
The man stayed quiet and looked around because unfortunately his mouth was taped closed.
“Are you a stalker?”
He shook his head.
“Are you a kidnapper?”
He shook his head again.
“How did you get in?
The man pondered on the thought and tried to speak but instead caused some muffling noise. He also tiled his head away to avoid Jaejoong’s hard gaze, when the brunette leaned forward.
It didn’t take long before the silent answers became frustrating to Jaejoong’s mind and he took off the tape harshly, earning him a ‘ah!’ from the man.
“Now answer.”
“Through the door.” He simply stated and Jaejoong ruffled his hair in irritation.”Are you joking? If you came through the front door, then who let you in?” He scoffed.
“Not the front door.” The person whispered lowly and Jaejoong had to lean even further to catch that. “So you snuck in? Typical, bastards like you would try to do something. I knew you were a stalk-”
“I’m not a stalker.” The man defended and Jaejoong mused at the reaction he was getting. “Then what are you?”
“I’m a demon.”
Ok, now there’s a crazy guy on the loose.
And he happens to be in his house of all house this guy could’ve gone to, he chose theirs.
“That’s it. I’m calling the cops- no, a mental institution because I think they just lost one of their patients.” He eyed the man, who in turn froze and began speaking up again.
“No, wait. I’m not insane. I really am a demo- “
“Then prove it.” Jaejoong intercepted. If this guy was anywhere telling the truth he should be able to do something to prove him wrong otherwise he wouldn’t hesitate to call the institution on him. Although, it wasn’t like he believed him but giving him the chance to prove himself was only going to prove Jaejoong point even further and the fact that he was not a-
The lights turned off.
“Another blackout?!” He cursed, pressing the light switch to go back on however, it didn’t seem to work.
“No, that’s me.” The guy spoke up, startling Jaejoong and he tried to search for him in the dark. “Ha-ha very funny. Did you tamper with the lights? Is this how you’re proving yourself, you fucker?”
There were some rustling noise and Jaejoong gulped, sweat seeping out of his skin within mere seconds while he notice the said man was no longer sitting down but he was now standing. Somehow he had escaped his bindings and not tied down by the belt. He prepared his bat to hit him and just when he was about to, the bat was no longer in his hands but in the other man’s.
Jaejoong flinched when the man stepped closer, a bat- his bat at the other man’s hand and the brunette damned in his mind.
He knew he shouldn’t have trusted the other man to leave them alone.
And just when the man was a few inches up close, Jaejoong was ready to give him a good slap until the lights came back on.
“Do you believe me now?” He whisper, his face very close to his own and Jaejoong nervously flushed at the view of two eyes looking at him intently.
“No” He mentioned flatly and the other man slump his shoulders.
“Then do you have a name?”
He played with the bat in his grasp and gave it back to the brunette.
“Jaejoong, but that doesn’t mean I believe you.”
- ->
Yunho.
The name of the kidnapper, Jaejoong learns and who still claims that he can do many things humans cannot.
It didn’t take long for Jaejoong to realize that when he first told him he was a demon and he came through a portal, which led to his brother’s closet apparently- or the man was definitely somewhere in the head and didn’t want to admit it. Though Jaejoong admits the guy does like playing around with the light switches and he refuses to go back to wherever he came from because he has to wait till five o’clock in the morning or something in order to go back.
It was still the eerie night hour and Jaejoong made sure he didn’t take his eyes off the other man even though he was exploring his room like a little boy venturing off to a new playground. Everything he touched was placed back in a disorderly manner and Jaejoong couldn’t hold in his frustration when he found his stack of neatly arranged book scattered all over the floor.
Unfortunately, Jaejoong couldn’t scold the guy because once it reached five, Jaejoong followed him to his brother’s room, creeping quietly and to not to wake him up while he watch to see if the man would actually leave.
Though if he doesn’t, Jaejoong was definitely going to drag him out and call the cops on him and make sure he never gets out of jail for trespassing. The image was sweet and Jaejoong still doesn’t know why he’s letting the guy do it.
“It was nice meeting you.” Yunho whispered closely to Jaejoong because he didn’t want to say it loudly like he has been for the past hour until Jaejoong told him to be quiet in his room.
“Well it was not nice meeting you.” He countered, ignoring the way the other man pouted as the guy opened the door and left.
Once the door clicked shut, Jaejoong waited a few minutes before opening the door again, expecting Yunho to just be sitting in their closet and lying that he was ever a demon to begin with.
However, after Jaejoong took a peak in, he was surprised at what he saw.
There was nothing in the closet.
- ->
It was a few nights later when Jaejoong caught Yunho in his brother’s room again- flustered and at the scene of the crime. He was going to bring up some medicine for his sick brother and he didn’t expect to find another person lingering in the room during his absences.
“What are you doing here?”
He questioned immediately, glaring into the other man, who was pouring with sweat as he realize the situation he was in.
“It’s not what you think.” He defended himself quickly, raising his arms in the air with one of his hands grasping onto a box.
“What’s that you have in your hand?” He asked, uneasily as he stepped closer to get a good view.
The other man smiled, “An apology.” He held out the small box on the palm of his hand, observing Jaejoong once he put down the water and medicine and made a grab for his baseball bat.
Figures.
Not that he blame him for being cautious.
“Apology for what?” Jaejoong walked closer and Yunho opened the box full of....
“Candy?”
“For waking you up and disturbin- “
“You’re still disturbing us.” Jaejoong cut in and Yunho smiled regardless of the damage inflicted through those harsh words. “Also for you to believe me. It’s candy from my world. You won’t find it anywhere else here.” He mused, even though Jaejoong was on the edge of hitting him.
Though, to prove his point, Yunho took a piece and ate it. Obviously it wasn’t poisonous but of course, the other man still wouldn’t believe him despite everything he says.
As if waiting, Jaejoong stared at Yunho for awhile and made sure he didn’t suddenly drop dead in front of him but then why would the guy commit suicide right in front of him?
Hesitantly, Jaejoong took a piece and chewed.
It was super sweet.
And he liked it.
- ->
“So you’re here on a mission?” Jaejoong sums because from what Yunho told him so far, his world seem almost brilliant than to require missions.
“Yeah. It’s more like a test.” He plays with one of Junsu’s toys lying on the floor and watched it roll across the room.
“For what?” The brunette grabs onto a puppet and made it face Yunho. He nudged it to move and pretend it was speaking in a terribly pitched voice. “For what, Yunnie?”
Yunho laughs and takes another toy lying on the ground. He points it at the other toy and then pushes it closely to the one in Jaejoong’s hand. “Jaejoong- ah!” He squeaks in another pitched voice while the other plays along.
He didn’t answer the question.
- ->
“You don’t have much time. The day where your final test ends is coming soon.”
“I know.”
- ->
“What’s your favorite color?” Yunho asks first for once and Jaejoong just looks at him.
“This.” He points at a wristband Yunho is wearing.
It was black and white.
- ->
“You should finish this soon, Yunho.”
“I know.”
- ->
Yunho swallowed some soap by mistake because he thought it looked like some jelly in his world.
Jaejoong helps him spit it out and he finds out that he doesn’t mind letting the other man bracing him with a hug for support.
- ->
“Before your father finds out, you need to get rid of him.”
“I know, Yoochun, I know.”
“Then why don’t you?”
“…”
“…”
“…I don’t know.”
- ->
It was Junsu’s birthday when Yunho accidentally stole Jaejoong’s first kiss.
Jaejoong didn’t curse at him for it.
- ->
“I can’t do it, Yoochun.”
“…”
- ->
Junsu catches Jaejoong kissing Yunho one night and cries when he couldn’t give his hyung a kiss too.
Eventually Jaejoong gives in and makes him swear to secrecy, which Junsu obliges after a good night kiss.
Jaejoong curses and Yunho kisses him until he feels better.
- ->
“I’m not going back.”
- ->
It was a bit into the night when Jaejoong found himself humming to a song he heard today on the radio and it happened to be a love song. Though, he hasn’t exactly found one he liked for a long time, it was hard to believe he was getting back into listening to these songs.
Just as he heard on the door, he stopped humming and went to open it.
Clearly he knows it’s Yunho and the said man comes in quietly, ignoring Jaejoong’s presences as he sat on the other man’s bed. It was unusual because Yunho had found it a pleasant routine to give him some greeting kisses and lately Jaejoong had just gotten use to them.
“What’s wrong?”
He sat down next to him, observing the way Yunho’s expression turned from stern to tense.
It was really unusual.
“Yun- “
“Do you remember what I told you before?” Yunho perked up a question and Jaejoong nodded in understand. However, before he could comprehend what the other man was trying to get at, he guessed.
“You’re a demon?”
Yunho shook his head and sighed. “Not that one.” He turned and went back to stare at Jaejoong’s book shelves that he rearranged in a new order and sighed again.
“I have a mission, remember?” Then Jaejoong brighten up and nodded again once he recalled what Yunho was talking about. “And?”
Hesitantly, Yunho breathed slowly, taking his gaze away from the shelves and trying to find some alternative object to look at. However, no matter how long he prolonged, it was only a matter of time before Jaejoong became agitated and frustrated with his stalling.
“The mission is given to demons, like myself, who are trying to level up and grow stronger.” He exhaled, still not looking at Jaejoong.
“And the way we grow stronger is if we… “ He breathed again, this time turning slowly to face Jaejoong. Even though he didn’t want to look at him because he knew what he was about to say wasn’t anywhere near flying colors and rainbows. “We have to take souls.”
Slap!
“I knew you were lying.”
He huffed and walked out of the room in frustration- not once did he bother to look back at Yunho because he knows he wouldn’t follow him.
And Yunho doesn’t.
- ->
“Bring back my son.”
“Yes, sir.”
- ->
Jaejoong tucks his little brother back into bed. The little guy had fallen asleep on the floor and it wasn’t good to leave him there.
He was about to head towards his own room until he heard the closet door creaking open and Jaejoong could only assume it was his usual night visitor.
“What do you want Yunho?” He scoffed, pretending he wasn’t still pissed off at the other for telling him that he had to take souls. Though he never mentioned who, it was already obvious once he broke out of his usual habit and began to act strange.
The footsteps behind Jaejoong didn’t cease their steps and they didn’t sound anywhere familiar like the crazy klutz who eventually fell on his own two feet before he even made it across the room.
Nervously bracing himself after receiving no reply, Jaejoong turned around and gasped, realizing it was another person- another man and he was definitely not Yunho.
“W-who are you?”
He accused and the person smirked.
Clearly, there was something wrong with his brother’s closet, considering there was another man in the room.
Unless Yunho put him up to it.
“Where is Yunho? You know him, don’t you?” He asked ominously, giving Jaejoong a creepy smile as he stepped closer to the brunette for more confirmation.
The room seemed to grow darker ever since the person stepped in and Jaejoong could feel something chilly crawling up his skin. However, he wasn’t able to find the will to scream at the man in front of him nor was he able to stop trembling because his teeth were beginning to chatter.
Jaejoong felt scared.
He actually feels it because the moment he tries to hold his ground, he trips over one of Junsu’s toys instead.
He fell and the door to his brother’s room slammed open next.
“Yoochun!” Yunho shouts at the new intruder and the other man turns after he found what he was looking for. “Yunho, your father wants you back.” He simply says and Yunho mutters some indistinguishable words under his breath and goes to Jaejoong who is still on the ground.
He helps him up, “What is going on?” Jaejoong whispers and Yunho doesn’t look at him. He continues to stare at Yoochun and clench his hand tightly onto Jaejoong’s shirt.
“Yun- “
“I have to go back.” He finally says and Yoochun looks at them as if there was something oddly strange with the way they were holding each other and very closely.
“Good to know I won’t have to drag you.”
Yunho grimaces on the fact and tells Yoochun to wait, which he doesn’t do because he knows the other man would try to escape.
“I promise I won’t go anywhere. Just…” He turns to Jaejoong. “Let me say something to him first.” He pleads and Yoochun looks at both of them suspiciously. “If I find you gone, I will take his soul.” He threatens and Yunhos nods frantically with success and probably joy.
If he makes it out alive.
Within a few moments, Yoochun makes his way to the closet and once the door fell shut, Yunho adjusted his hand around Jaejoong’s that he didn’t even realize he was already holding.
“Jaejoong-ah…I-I…”
“Just take my soul already. I know that’s what you’re here for.” Jaejoong whispers and Yunho stops shuddering.
“No, Jaejoong-ah.” He breathes. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have dragged you into this and I shouldn’t have come in the first place.” He gulped and he hears Jaejoong sniffing.
“Please Jaejoong-ah. Please just forget about me. Just forget.”
How we met.
How we hugged.
How we laughed.
How we kissed.
How we loved.
“My father wants me back and I can’t persuade him at this point if he’s sending my friend to come and get me.” Yunho sighs and he could feel Yoochun on the other side of the door, impatient yet still waiting for his friend.
If they were still called that.
“I’m sorry, Jaejoong-ah.”
Suddenly Jaejoong begins to feel drowsy, as if there was some sort of spell laid onto him and he tries his best to stay awake, however he eventually falls. His vision becomes blurry and even if he doesn’t want Yunho to go, there is probably no chance of him getting by another demon as he only hears the faint whispers of his former lover’s voice.
“Goodbye Jaejoong.”

A few weeks later, it had drawn to Jaejoong that he couldn’t really move on. No matter what Yunho had told him before he still couldn’t forget him. Though, people do say it takes a long time to forget about past history and Jaejoong had seriously tried but with no avail.
He sighed, staring at his alarm clock, blazing with red blinking numbers and it still mocked his sense of time because he couldn’t fall asleep into the eerie nights even if he wanted to.
It was nearly five in the morning and Jaejoong probably looked like shit. He turned to stare at his own closet, as if the person he wanted to see would just walk out of those doors and say something cheesy like nothing has happened. It was still a long run for that to happen and Jaejoong was still waiting for it to happen.
Even if he has to give up his time for it.
However, sleep seems fruitless in his mind and he began to wander around the same memories again until he looked back at his alarm clock, 4:58 and realized something.
Hastily he jumped out of bed and headed towards his closet, fisting and un-fisting his hand after he was done setting the alarm on his clock to five o’clock. Though only a minute away now- Jaejoong waited for it to set off before grabbing onto the knob.
The back of his mind was telling him he shouldn’t, yet his hands were telling him to go ahead because what was there for him to be afraid of?
He took a deep breath.
Then exhaled once his clock rang.
It hit five o’clock.
He opened the door.
And within an instant, an ominous gust of wind came whirling into his room, whispers and shadows mingled together as a gravitational pull took hold of Jaejoong and he was reeled in to a bottomless pit hole.
It took him.
Deep deep deep into the darkness.
Whack
And the door slammed shut.
A/N: A one-shot with no smut for once lolol. Anyway, I have a demanding sister and she wanted me to write another WooGyu fic but I decided to post that version onto AFF instead. She’s seriously messing with my OTP so I changed it to yunjae. :’DD Anyhow, thanks to her, I got the plot developed and it inspired her to write it herself, which I hope she will post it(it’s Woogyu btw) because I seriously think it’s awesome and she still thinks otherwise. :P If she does post it, hopefully can put the link out there soon. :’DD
Also, un-beta with weird mistakes so skip all that. Comments, criticism and questions are welcome. :)
