ComicCon day 1

Jul 17, 2003 19:49

Well, I wanted to wake up early so I could get to the Convention Center before a line formed. When we got there, I kid you not, the line was prolly around 2 miles long. Surprisingly it only took up 45 mintues to get inside.

My aunt was eating . I was taking a look around and I saw the dad from the Kenan and Kel show. Didn't get an autograph but he waved.

We headed downstairs and I was looking for the LOTR Pavlion. On the way over there, I saw this place that was selling LOTR stuff. I bought the entire FOTR card set which included a bust. I got the Frodo one (the last one I might add). Then I saw this uber big banner of Legolas. I headed in that direction and saw 3 giant statues. A ringwraith on a horse, Lurtz, and Gollum with a fish. Then I saw this Cave Troll display with all these collectable statues of every single character. There was a section where you could play the ROTK video game and there were small flat screens with interviews from Orlando Bloom, Viggo Mortensen, and John Rhys-Davies. I saw theonering.net booth which had a Rohan tent on top. It had all these aspects from the movie. Like Rohan, Gondor, the Two Towers, and Fangorn Forest. I bought all the NZ stamps, a Frodo Lives hat,a Frodo phone thing, 8 calendat cards, 3 bookmarks, and a Legolas photo album. I also jacked a buttload of free stuff. They were also showing the Two Towers right in the middle of the entire section. Plus, they had card matches going on. Then I saw this place that was selling stuff that was signed by a lot of people. Orlando Bloom's signature went up tp 200 bucks. I actually touched Andy Serkis' autograph!

My aunt had gone upstairs to go watch the Superman movies while I went off in my search for Elijah Wood. But then..
I MET RICHARD TAYLOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you don't know who that is..Shame on you!
I was on the phone with Chelsea and then I froze. Richard Taylor was 3 feet in front of me. I got in line but then realized I had nothing for him to sign. I waited as people took pictures with him and Gollum bust. Too bad my aunt had the camera. When I came up there he saw I didn't have anything and so gave me the Two Towers poster and he signed it. When I first saw him he was like, in his uber cool accent, "I've met you before right?" I told him it was my first time and he kept saying"Oh, that's good! You look familiar!" He asked me my name and all that. While he was signing my poster I was telling him my quest to find Elijah. He said he would tell him that next he saw him! He shook my hand and handed me the poster. It read, "April, all our best from your friends at WETA. Richard Taylor." Hehe, he's left handed.
Then I went back up for theonering.net thing. It was was kinda boring but they said on Sunday they were gonna have this thing on ROTK. Stuff we're not suppose to know, in other words: Major spoilers. Hell, I'm going.

I finally got the camera from my aunt and went back downstairs and I ran into Richard Taylor again! So I met him twice. Well, you can't meet someone twice. So I saw him again. He remembered me! "Oh, its you again!" I asked for a picture since I didn't get one. He didn't have his Gollum bust with him. He told me to follow him and we took the picture in front of the Gollum statue. That was a perk for not having my camera. A picture that no one else will have. Everyone has that bust picture =P. He shook my hand again and said, "Pleasure, once again April." Whee!!

There's my first day. No Elijah Wood. But the big day is Saturday. Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Angelina Jolie, all the LOTR people, and "surprise guests"! *squee*.

I'm so tired and my feet hurt like hell. But hey looking for a hobbit that can blend in very well for 7 hours is quite the work out. And I have come to the conclusion that "Where Are You Now?" by Michelle Branch is my theme song for ComicCon 03. =D. Look up the lyrics yourself..I'm too tired to. XP
