Today I learned first-hand that Route 9 is the most dangerous road in Vermont (and quite possibly the most dangerous road in New England). Trying (stupidly) to pass a truck, I slid on some black ice, spun around, and crashed (backwards) into the guardrail. Said trucker stayed with me, directing traffic, and called 911; three firemen, two state troopers and one tow-truck later, I was home safe, sound, and (finally) warm.
I didn't hit the other truck; just the guardrail. The back driver's side is smushed in, the part above the back driver's side wheel is bubbled out, the bumper is kind of bent in, and the tailgate is hanging by a thread (or, rather, a cord), but it could have been so much worse. It does seem, however, that Ol' Hot Wheels is finally done for.
