i didn't mean to come off sounding like i was angry at you. you don't have anything to apologize about, and i should be the one to apologize for going off on you like that when you're expressing your opinion. i haven't had time to read thru ur blog recently, and i didn't mean to smack u down like that. i'm angry with this fuzzy pseudo-pacifism that i see crippling the democratic party. this: http://www.tnr.com/doc.mhtml?i=20041213&s=beinart121304 is what i'm talking about ( ... )

Yeah, Obama is great. But he is a freshman senator. No way will he win. I understand the desire to get fresh ideas and drive, though.

Of course, he has more Washington experience than Dubya did but that won't matter.

best way to get in touch is via email or aim. i think you still have them both, right?

i'm in seoul, korea now.

and screw this "freshman" label. we live in a meritocracy. our last successful candidate came from arkansas...

since i don't blog anymore, and barely keep up with us news, i gotta vent somewhere, and this seems as good a place as any.

when the hell did it become such a shameful thing to take strong liberal stands? liberal means one who supports LIBERTY, and i thought that was a GOOD thing.

and seriously, what the hell is this all about: http://www.nytimes.com/2006/06/28/washington/28hillary.html?_r=1&oref=login

"But pragmatism is what wins elections for Democrats."

Uh, no? how about VISION? how about inspiring people, asking the voters to reach for a higher standard? what ever happened to challenging the electorate, instead of coddling them, mollifying them, babying them?

dammit, since when have we stopped taking a STAND for the things that are RIGHT?

ugh, i seriously can't believe we're about to overrule texas v johnson.

i have to agree with you about vision. i think dean's demise in the 2004 primaries kind of scared everyone away from passionate ideas and vocal moral outrage. we ought to swing the needle a little back that way.
