dear bunsie, my dad is really sick with diahrheea and hasn´t eaten all day so we just spent like an hour trying to find a place to eat late at night which is actually pretty hard here in bacalar. we are staying in a smaller town outside of chetumal. can´t wait to talk to you. i miss you tons!!!! i am really considering flying home because my legs are really swollen from the bus ride all day. i was standing most of the day on this really really crowded bus from flores to chetumal. it was sooooo crowded and hot with tourists from all over the world. i did make friends with a german girl, an italian girl named marta and her father that want us to come to rome to visit them! we have made several friends on this trip. the two old french guys that went on the jungle trek with us are hilarious, but anyways we have an invitation in paris as well! yey! we have homes all over the world! jk. but they did say to visit. and abby from denver, she is a snowboarder and a sociologist really really awesome hilarious, down to earth girl, she and i hit it off right away. the other guy from iceland was really cool as well, jon ragnar, he was more quiet though. anyways, my poor dad really worn out. we are staying at this hostel type place for the night, it´s pretty expensive but my dad was sooo sick and hungry and worn out we just got the first thing, 35 american dollars. i was able to get our belize money changed today! yey! and also i made a friend with an el salvador woman that lives in belize, she said to come and visit her as well! don and his friend missed us by 8 minutes but we are definitely meeting them in the morning. he rented a car so we can get around cheap and easy! yey! i have some pics for you. el mirador was awesome. did i tell you our mule guy macheted his hand really badly the second night? we all helped stitch him. we walked 100 kilometers in 4 days. rough terrain too. good time though and amazing place. did i tell you that el piramide in finca ixobel was really a real pyramid! it is. oh i met this other really cool guy this morning on the bus from maine actually, he has travelled in over 40 countries and was a lobster fisherman and just now graduated with his master´s in underwater archaeology, he is meeting his girlfriend for ten days in belize, so that was cool to talk to him. he has been everywhere. oh i really really want to learn french and italian. lol. i was able to really understand most of it! especially the italian. anyways, i better go, we have to walk to our room which is pretty far and my legs hurt and my dad is waiting for me. he is older too, so it´s harder on him especially being so sick. i love and miss you adn the boys. i will try to call. i hate to say i promise in case i am not able to for some reason. love always, your gabi
