(no subject)
Hi all from ecuador! Things are going well overall here. We have spent the last two days just touring around Quito attempting not to die at the hands of cars or taxi drivers. They are seriously crazy. The altitude takes some getting use to but after a day I am fine, unfortunately leaving to the Galapagos tomorrow so there goes that acclimatization, but oh well.
Quito is a HUGE city. I have yet to be to the edge of it and have taken a 30 minutes cab ride in both directions! Overall a neat place. It is heartbreaking to see some of the people here though. A girl no older than 7 came begging to us today at lunch today with an infant strapped to her back. Makes you really appreciate what you have here. The dang little kids are the ones you have to look out for too. I have been pickpocketed once but nothing was stolen (so that would be attempted pickpocketing I guess).
Overall just wanted to post to say I am alive and doing well. We went to the equator and visited a church and such. I will hopefully update with pictures in about a week and a half. Hope everyitngn is going well for you all!
