Wordpress. Here in the Philippines, when you get a package in the mail, they don't deliver it straight to your house. The mailman delivers a notice on a piece of paper and then you have to go and pick up the package in the nearest post office. Yesterday, I got a notice and today, I was looking forward to the end of my work day so I can find out what the package is. This afternoon, I picked it up and guess what was inside? See for yourself:
Yes, that's a copy of The Road Home by Ellen Emerson White sent by the wonderful Angie of
Angieville! :) Last month, I ordered The President's Daughter series by the same author and I was thinking of ordering her other books. I searched for The Road Home online and found out that it's not available from the usual sources. I tweeted Angie to ask if it's out of print since I know it's one of her favorites. She said that it was indeed out of print but still available from some sellers but she's not sure how expensive shipping would be to the Philippines. Then, surprise, surprise, I got this message from her:
@angiebookgirl Hey, if you find it's too expensive I happen to have an extra copy on hand and would be happy to send it to you. I <3 this book.
I didn't want to say yes at first because I didn't want her to go through the trouble of sending a book here. But she said it's fine because she has a post office near her anyway. So here I am, a few weeks later, with a copy of The Road Home! Isn't Angie sweet? This is the first book that I've gotten as a gift from a fellow book blogger. Thank you so much, Angie! I don't know how else I could show my appreciation - I mean aside from reading it and letting you know what I think, of course. :D I still have to read the last two books in The President's Daughter series but I can't wait to read The Road Home.
Oh and because you included a Wicked Game card in there, you've reminded me about Jeri Smith-Ready's urban fantasy books that I'm also planning to read.
