guess who had a craving for a supper snack? so i took the car out for a spin and passed by a
ramly burger stall. and all at once, all my memories of all the late night
ramly burgers i had when i was still doing my a-levels came back to me. now, malaysians will know exactly what a
ramly burger is. the difference with these local burgers is that you custom make them any way you want. you can have both chicken and beef in yours, or a pure meat with no garnishing or add an egg or cheese. extra mayonnaise perhaps? just pile it up with everything! almost like an
doner kebab from one of the kebab vans in UK.
but as i approached the stall thinking only of a special chicken burger (where a chicken patty is wrapped in an omelette), some new additions to the menu list caught my eye. apart from the usual chicken, beef and fish, now there's an addition of prawn and venison! my my my. so i decided to try the venison... the queue was pretty long and i had to wait a good 25-30 minutes before mine was even made and all the while the delicious smell of burgers cooking just kept making its way up my nostrils, making me salivate in anticipation. the sizzling sound that was made when the lady added pepper and soy sauce to the sliced patties was unexpectly enticing. but the burger was worth the wait. the venison patty was a bit dry, but the crispiness made up for its shortcomings and i think my next trip to the
ramly burger stall will be to try the prawn patty.
i can't believe i wrote so much on ONE burger ....tells you how much i love my food eh? heh.
