Title: Submission
Characters/Pairing: 1869
Rating: G (just don't blame me if the potential bondage gives you a fatal nosebleed)
Summary: Victory is sweet.  Revenge sweeter still.

A/N: It's been a while since I submitted a fic...well, here's one to chow down on.  I wrote this during some crazy phase when my muse returned and finished it off just now.

Hibari pressed a knee into Mukuro's back, a look of savage triumph contorting his normally impassive features.  With one hand he held the other man's arms twisted behind him, rendering Mukuro completely and utterly at his mercy.  With his other hand he gripped his remaining tonfa, the other (and Mukuro's trident) lying some short distance away, out of either man's reach.  The end of Hibari's weapon dug into the illusionist's cheek.  The expression on Mukuro's face was of such humilated pride that it further added to Hibari's immense satisfaction of finally achieving superiority over his most loathed opponent.

"Are you regretting challenging me?" Hibari taunted.  He twisted Mukuro's arm a little more and was rewarded with the illusionist's sharp hiss of pain.

"I regret nothing.  I only wish our positions were reversed so I could have the pleasure of gloating over you," Mukuro retorted, his mismatched eyes flashing.

Hibari smirked, gazing fearlessly into the one eye which unfailingly gave away any hint of the other's emotions - the azure depths which currently contained a brooding storm of anger.

"Maybe your time spent in prison has dulled your fighting edge.  No matter..."  Hibari flashed a predatory grin - unusual for a man whose emotions were usually carefully contained.  "This time, I win."

"All right, I admit it: you win.  Will you release me now?" Mukuro demanded, clearly not wanting to spend more time than necessary in his current helpless state.

"No."  With his free hand Hibari brought out his Vongola box weapon, displaying it before the other who frowned a little in puzzlement.  "Before I do that, there is something I want to do."  He opened the box, activated the Cambio Forma and - to Mukuro's horror - fastened a handcuff snugly around the illusionist's neck.  That done, he released the other man, who was in too much shock to move from his position on the floor.

"You will have to wear that now until I decide to release you," Hibari told Mukuro, a self-satisfied smirk plastered over his face.

"This is...!  You do not have to go so far!"  Mukuro sat up, fingers frantically grasping, sliding over the cuff's seamless surface, desperately trying to find a weakness.  But of course, with Hibari's control over his flames as they were, the cuffs were perfect.  He lunged towards Hibari but fell back as the cuff suddenly constricted about his throat, throttling him.

"That is the reason why I go so far," Hibari told the choking man.  He relaxed the handcuff's hold.

There was some beauty in the wordless snarl that marred the illusionist's effeminate features.  As Mukuro massaged away the feeling of the cuffs hard edge digging into his skin, his narrowed eyes glared accusingly at Hibari.  Like a wild animal that refused to believe it was chained and blamed its captor for its captivity.

Hibari knew exactly what the other man was thinking.  Being collared like a mere dog and held at another's mercy was something Hibari himself would have fought viciously to prevent, and possibly continued to have done so despite being caught.  However, Mukuro was too calculating and conscious of his own life to engage in a physical fight to win his freedom.  In that respect they were dissimilar.

He returned Mukuro's glare, silently daring the illusionist to attack him again.  He watched as Mukuro's lips became tight-lipped with fury and as - very reluctantly - the other man broke eye contact first and directed his anger downwards at the uncaring ground.  This tiny act of submission was enough confirmation for Hibari.

He had done it.  He had finally defeated Mukuro.
