Awesome Librarian Alert!

Some of you will remember from my Library Rage post that I had a not-so-awesome experience with a librarian at a local librarian back at the beginning of the school year. After that I went around and looked at some other local libraries before finding the Stow-Munroe Public Library. I fell in love with their Young Adult section immediately. It had squishy chairs, tables with reading lists on them, and Graphic Novels! I had to interview a librarian for a class a couple months back and interviewed their YA Librarian. She was super cool and nice and VERY informed, earning me a perfect grade on the assignment because of the detail she provided in her answers. I currently have an assignment I'm w
working on in which I have to read some graphic novels (it always seems to come back to them, eh?), and the first place I thought of was Stow-Munroe. It was getting late, though, and I knew I'd be pressed for time. No matter, I jetted over and found my favorite librarian sitting at the reference desk. I showed her the lists I had to go through and she was able to quickly tell me which titles she had and also gave me information on some programs going on at another local library that I could go observe. In short, I love her. She's fantastic. If you're in the area, go check the library out. Love it.

Went to work this morning and got to start weeding the Juvenile Collection. I love out Juvenile Collection, it makes me so happy to be able to go up there and play with the books, hehe! Tomorrow ought to be interesting, though. The school library stays open till 3am the last 5 weeks of the semester and it falls to the grad students (ie, me) to take shifts working the Circulation Desk during the late nights. I'll be there from 7pm-3am. On the up side, I've been told to bring a book because it's ridiculously boring. Once again, if anyone is in the area PLEASE COME VISIT ME! I will surely be suffering from isolation anxiety by midnight...

I know this is a short post, but I'm hoping everyone will forgive me. B/VEDA is kicking my butt and I have homework. See ya tomorrow!
