Occasionally, a raccoon will pop up in my backyard, unannounced, and my dad would chase it away, screaming and whacking a broom around. These raccoons have been in the area for years, and I'm surprised nobody has called 311 on them yet.
We recently found out they multiplied. As in reproduced. Our neighbor told us that she saw several little raccoons running around her backyard one night. And we found out it attacked one of the stray cats that hangs around my yard. (Our block is just a breeding ground for wildlife, isn't it? Oh, and we have some kind of exotic bird too. I'll take a picture.)
Well, back to the point of this post. I was just about to take a shower, right? And I hear this rattling noise outside my window. It took me a few seconds to figure out it was the rake hitting against the window. I was all 'That was weird. But whatever.'. After I turned the water on, I hear the same noise, accompanied with some odd snarling-meowing-hissing-whatever noise. I freaked out, and backed into my sink.
I knew immediately it was the raccoon. Mostly because cats don't make that kind of noise (I would know, I used to have one). It sounded like it was provoked by something, and infected with rabies. Oh fun. Does this mean I should be scared to go into my own backyard now? And what about Animal Control? Those people are freaking useless. And I am sure as fuck not letting myself or anyone I care about cage a bunch of possibly infected raccoons and released them into the wild (as per law).
Whatever happens now is all God's will, I guess.
