The Feds are going to cut off water from California's Central Valley.
I don't know if that's the right thing to do or not, but it is important to recognize that California's Central Valley is "the nation’s biggest producer of tomatoes, almonds, avocados, grapes, artichokes, onions, lettuce, olives and dozens of other crops. [1]"
Last year, in California's second year of drought, 100K acres of the 4.7M in the valley were left unplanted. That's a mere 2% and not much to worry about it. The projections for the coming year are ~18%.
If that comes to be, it will be a big deal.
