I forgot to post some pics from practice last week.
The caber we practiced with last week is, I've been told, bigger than anything I'd see in practice. It's 16 1/2 feet tall and I heard it weighed anywhere between 120-130 pounds.
I got a feel for it, but never got a decent pick on the two tries I had.
I know I could have picked it if I had another try. It's such an awkward thing--it's not as heavy as I thought it would be, but you lift the thing with your shoulder, neck, and palms.
You lift it fast to get your hands beneath it, and then you it's all in balancing.
I had to bail on the thing twice, but I got a good feel for it, and look forward to the next time I get a chance with it.
