Run to Joes

Allrighty!

I went ahead and did it: I registered for a 5K run.

I have until March 29 to be ready.

The Cowtown Marathon, which has a 5K run, is this month (two weeks), and I think typsygypsy originally challenged me to that run. A good friend at work who's running in the Cowtown 5K challenged me as well, but I've only hit the two mile mark. I know I can hit 3.1 miles in two weeks, but I'd rather not have the first time I do it be in a race.

The Run to Joes 5K is March 29, and that gives me time to train and be ready for it. The Run to Joes thing is a run/walk, but it's my goal to run the entire time.

I may come in last out of everybody jogging and running, but I'll cross the starting line with my slow jog, and cross the finish line with my slow jog.

typsygypsy is running in the Run to Joes 5K, so having a great friend in the race will help...even though she'll cross the finish long before me, I'm sure. She can hang out at the finish point with darthcynthia, waiting for me.

darthcynthia may give the 5K a go, too...we'll see.

But I did it.

I registered.

There's no turning back or copping out now.

Oh, and the race is through the neighborhood where Spiral Diner is. Spiral Diner is really into the community, so hopefully they'll be opened early so I can get a bite to eat after doing something I never thought I be doing: running.
