The Challenge

darthcynthia recently challenged me to lose ten pounds this month. Ten pounds...during the month most people gain.

But I like a challenge. I've done stupid things on dares, not because I felt a need to prove I could do something, but I like the experience and trying something I normally wouldn't try.

Two and a half pounds a week...that's not too hard, even with holiday food.

We're making Italian fig cookies this weekend, or next--that's a weakness of mine. But I'll make cookies and give them away. The only days I really eat a lot in December are Christmas Eve when we visit my mom, or Christmas Day when Cynthia and I have Christmas dinner together. The past several years, I haven't overdone it during holiday meals.

I found out I'm not going to Alaska next week, and I don't think we'll end up in Alaska this month. Going places with work can be tough for weight loss since there's only one car and if you want to eat, you have to go someplace and eat. A lot of times it's straight from the client's site to a restaurant, and then getting back to the hotel after a long day and not having time to even hit the fitness center. So not going to Alaska (where I'll be tempted to visit the Alaska Brewing Company and drink beer), will help with losing weight.

So I'll do it. I'll lose ten pounds through the month that's one of the worst for gaining weight!
