It wasn't as long as my break before chapters 4 & 5, but it was longer than most of my other breaks. This was a longer chapter though, and I got tied up in a few places. It's funny, I thought chapter 8 would be the difficult one because that's when the trial would be. But here I am done with chapter 9 and I haven't even gotten there lol.

I still missed the fic!! But, I'm not going to complain about a long chapter, or any chapter really lol. And isn't it funny how that happens with fics?? Either way, I'm not complaining about the build up :P.

I get that. I liked the tone of the re-watch better. I think that's cuz everyone has had time to digest the episodes, and you already know where things go - up until the end of S5 anyway. These 'as you go' episodes can mess with people. Especially those that stay up until 3am to watch. It's sort of a raw reaction. Some people react pretty strongly to stuff. Plus, Dan Harmon must have majored in psychological torture with a focus on shippers when he was in college. The thing that really bothers me is the spoilers that get thrown in from interviews, etc. I don't generally look for spoilers in episode discussions, I wish they were behind a spoiler alert. Those early season interviews traumatized me, so I started trying to avoid all that stuff and just analyze the canon text.

I understand that, which is why I try to stay away. I try to keep an optimistic pov and not freak out about things-- I have faith that Harmon is writing to an end point, and that everything is leading up to that point, but that seems to be a minority opinion within fandom so I just try to keep quiet. But yeah, he definitely majored in psychological torture lol.

I agree with you about the spoilers-- I think I would like it better if it were just about the episode but all these things keep getting thrown in and it gets confusing.

(Long comment is long sorry.)

Ummmmmm, did you read my comments in the re-watch? I know you did, because you replied to them. I wrote like 6 pages on Basic Sandwich, so I gots no right to complain about long comments lol.

And yeah, I'm basically the same way in trying to keep a positive outlook. I don't like how slowly it's moving, but it definitely seems to be building in only one direction. And if Dan was going to ignore it outright, I don't think he'd have put all these other bits into S6. I keep saying that in the weekly discussions, but it does seem to be an unpopular opinion sometimes. The thing with that, though, is that I just picked up Community last fall. Some of these people have been doing episode to episode stuff like this since S1. And I can't necessarily blame them for being pessimistic, with all they've gone through.

Yes but those were rewatch comments and so they are expected to be long I went off on a rant on something completely unrelated on a post that is a fic :P. Also, your comments were actually good, lol.

I think it's moving at the perfect speed actually . . . it fits Jeff's mo perfectly, and it's not like he's ignoring it, he's just . . . testing the waters. However, I do think that there is going to be fallout from the love confession in the next eps resulting in them getting together. The unpopular opinion bit is the reason I don't really go in there-- I don't want to be brought down :/.

I get that and I see it too, and I don't really blame any of them, to each their own.

My problem is that since s6 started, not so much on here but elsewhere, people who are optimistic are either completely ignored or attacked by other fandom members, so I just keep my views to myself to avoid that happening.

(Again sorry for the long off topic comment!)
