First of all, DragonCon was absolutely awesome! It would not have been nearly as awesome, though, had I followed any other con track than Stargate: Offworld Track, the first of its kind in America. It's really late, so I'll just pop off a few important shout-outs

Anyway, I really did enjoy the track, and am thoroughly interested in coming back and possibly joining the staff...if that's even a possibility. I don't know why, but I just sort of gravitated to you guys. Plus, there's some wavelength things that just match up just-so...so our conversations, for the most part, were really active and engaging. I miss that, being back in the rural sticks of western KY.
Almost no one knows what SG is here. Blasphemers! Plus, a few of them are hung up still on the "harry Potter is Satan" thing. I'm not joking. I'm just hoping to stay one step ahead of torches and pitchforks. I'm originally from central KY, and thought my people were conservative...but being here (150 miles southwest of home) is more than a little scary sometimes.
I haven't met anyone here with whom I'd entertain the possibility of an all-night conversation about anything. I am in a very successful relationship with a gal named Amy back home, and while she's great to talk to, she's not really into sci-fi or fantasy, but...she doesn't mind my fandom. So that's all good.
Anyways, I'm totally new to LJ, so if things look plain, awkward, etc., it's because I haven't figured stuff out yet. I am planning to come to DCon again next year, esp. if they continue the track.
Thanks for the reply! I'll have to talk to you again sometime. Still working on post-Con projects.
J.P.
