"You raise me up...to more than I can be"

Hey guys, Merry Christmas! Since I last told you guys what was going on with my mom the situation has taken a complete turn. Tuesday while I was still up at school my mom went to the doctor and they tried to take a blood draw from her chemo port. Her chemo port is located in her chest and that is where they administered her chemo, and now all they ahve been using it for is blood draws. They couldn't get a blood draw out of it and couldn't get it to flush. So on thursday she went to see her surgeon who put the port in. They took and xray and found out that 4 in of the 8in tubeing that is attached to her port was missing. They called rochester and they told my mom to get to the Emergency Room of St. Marys right away because they figure the tube was either in her heart or in her lungs and if she waited any longer it could come through her lungs. So I took her to the emergency room in rochester. They did a CT scan there and found the tube located in the Coronary Sinus of her heart, which is the back of her heart and the main vein that pumps the blood. They admitted her to the hospital and set surgery for 8:30 am. My aunt and I came back early christmas eve morning to find out that her surgery was pushed back to noon and that we would not get to bring her home. She went to surgery, they got the tube out, and then she had another surgery to have her port taken out. They did that because they ahd to make sure all of the pieces were there. She stayed at the hospital that night and then I came back christmas day and picked her up. So its been a crazy couple of days but Praise God that she is still alive. This was the first time this has ever happened, they have had catheters *the tube* break off before but never had them travel and lodge where my moms did. According to the doctors, this was very serious, because the tube itself was the same size as the hole it lodged its self into. They have no idea why it didn't block it off completely, and cause a heart attack. I know why, his name is God. We are very thankfully that we have gotten through this hurdle, unfortunatly the hurdle of the spots are still there and tomorrow we head back to the hospital. So thank you guys for your prayers, it means a lot of us. Have a wonderful holidays and I will let you know how tomorrow goes. God Bless!

"The only thing in life that is constant is Jesus." - Zao

"That is why we never give up, Christians we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are quite small and won't last very long. Yet they produce for us an immeasurably great glory that will last forever! So we don't look at the troubles we can see right now; rather, we look forward to what we have not yet seen. For the troubles we see will soon be over, but the joys to come will last forever."
~2 Corinthians 4:16
