In recent years, however, we've been under what's basically colonization from the English. Things are kind of tense between our two countries because of it.

Ah, my sympathies then. While Athlum was never colonized, we were -- until very recently -- under sovereignty to a larger city-state. "Tense" is... a polite way of describing out rapport, yes.
