Treatments?

I haven't posted here in a long time. I am a CFIDS/ME patient who became ill in 1997-ish, and had my lowest point in terms of energy in 2003-04. Since then I have gradually been improving, and it's been great. However, this year, I've been heading back downhill, and it is terrible. I've been slowly working on my BFA since 2004: I've gone only part-time, and I took a few breaks. Only a few years ago, I reached a point where I could take 3 classes at once! But now, I worry that I can't manage that: I barely made it through last semester (with three classes.)

I stopped seeing my CFIDS specialist in 2005 or so because not only had she told me that there was nothing more she could do for me, and that I should just rest, but I changed insurance and she wasn't on the new plan. I am scheduled to go back to see her some months from now (she has quite a wait.)

For several years I have taken bupropion to increase my energy levels, but it has stopped working. My insurance company will not cover Nuvigil; I am waiting to see if they will cover Provigil. I am at a loss. If my insurance won't cover Provigil or it won't work for me, I am in trouble.

I'm so frustrated. But mainly I am here to ask: what has helped you recently?

Good nutrition has helped me, and so has getting my hypothyroid disease and hypoglycemia under control. But neither of those has truly fixed the fatigue, and now I find I am sliding downhill. I feel so desperate right now: I am in the home stretch and could finish my BFA by the end of 2014 if nothing else goes wrong. If I could keep up. If I don't have to take a semester off. If. I am going to school away from home and family and I desperately want to finish so I can go back home and go on with my life.
