CHARACTERS: Kanda and anyone else~ SUMMARY: He's out walking around, figuring out where the hell he ended up. PLACE: Around Tier 3~ TIME: Midday WARNINGS: None
Merlyn was on another of his book-buying trips, replacing the Greek histories that had been damaged in the floods. It was taking a lot longer than it should have; he could only carry so many at a time and in any case he had long ago decided to budget each day so as not to run out of money for food.
Accordingly, he was walking down the corridor with more stacked volumes than it seemed possible for such an old man to hold up. His Plato and Socrates blocked his vision, so that he neither swerved nor even flinched as he walked straight towards Kanda.
Kanda snorted at the vending machines and their lack of the food he preferred and turned his head at the approaching footsteps. Someone who apparently had too much to carry was heading right for him, and he looked to step to the side, but instead he cleared his throat to announce that he was there. Just as a precaution. The corridor was kind of narrow.
Merlyn lowered his books at the cough and peered over the top of the pile. The young man he saw looked vaguely familiar, and he racked his rather bad memory to find out why. Oh, if only he had Archimedes! His owl companion and friend was always good at remembering what he forgot.
A few synapses fizzled. "You would be the boy who thought he was better than the rest of us, correct?"
Kanda raised an eyebrow at the man, wondering what he was blabbering on about. "What are you talking about?" Though, the man looked familiar, but he couldn't place it.
Lee had just finished his laundry. Walking with a small basket of freshly laundered clothes in his hands, he noticed that a man looking remarkably familiar passing by...he could not but attempt to draw his attention, just in case.
