An asking for Assistance This Black Friday
There was no Black Friday for me today. I spent the wee hours of my morning putting together a site to help a small girl from my church that is suffering from Alagille Syndrome. Kareen is four years old and within the last two weeks has had two surgeries. The first was a liver transplant, the second a correctional surgery to fix a loose tube from the first surgery.
magusraistlin and I spent our past weekend at Anime USA with a new piece he drew called "Hope" in order to raise money for her. We were successful in raising $90.00 for her, but that is very little in the face of the $3,000+ amount they are having to pay weekly to keep Kareen in Duke Hospital to recover. Kareen's family is in dire straights and so many charities have denied them help. Leonardo, Kareen's father has lost his job due to our failing economy and their lack of income and insurance is making this hard on them.
I'm asking you all, my LJ friends to please take a moment this Holiday Season and take $10.00 from your holiday shopping funds and to donate to Kareen's Fund. In return we will send you a beautiful print copy of Marshall's drawing, and the verse our friend Tillman put together to go with it.
Since everything concerning the picture was donated 100% of all profits goes to the Soto Family to help them get through the week.
Please help us save our little princess that we go to church with, because the thought of her being denied proper medical care due to lack of funds, that could cause her not to reach her fifth birthday in January is more devastating than I can ever imagine.
