GOSH I WONDER.
Well, first on my list of stuff to do is college. If I suddenly had gazillions of dollars before May 1, I'd probably go to Rice instead of Oklahoma just because I ♥ it so much.
After that, maybe grad school? Depending on how much I liked school at that point.
Then, OUT OF COUNTRY. Preferably France, but who knows? maybe I'll learn some other language in college and want to go somewhere else instead. For example, dangerous though many Middle Eastern countries might be at the moment, Arabic is on my shortlist of languages to learn - and they might have an opening for a chemical engineer, eh? Not to mention that it's a (slight) possibility that the conflicts there could become less prominent in the four-to-eight years before I'd be ready to go there.
But assuming France! Since after all that is the plan at the moment, eh?
Château. Indoor garden. Maybe an outdoor garden too, depending on how nature-ish I feel at the time. Remodel the whole thing, too, probably, unless it's in amazingly excellent condition. Furnish to taste. Install runway for private jet (also, buy private jet, or that's not gonna be very useful, is it?). Use private jet to fly in old friends, who are by now spread out all over the world, and have a giant reunion party. Then fly them all home because of course they have very important jobs which, if neglected for too long, could cause the entire Earth to spontaneously combust. Or get them fired. (Come to think of it, that would probably not be an 'or' situation. ^^)
I would buy loads of stuff, including some awesome historical-style clothing (dresses, corsets, jewelry, pocketwatch, etc etc etc) and have loads of space to put it in - châteaux are not usually known for being small and cozy. I would probably artificially chuck myself back in time to about the eighteenth century, what with château, furnishings, clothes, pretty much everything except technology (INTERNETZ ARE MIIINE.). My French neighbors would likely start calling me 'that crazy weirdo girl on the hill' or somesuch. And I would of course not care.
If not working lots just for the fun of it, I would pick up a bunch of new hobbies. New languages? Learn to sew? Learn to pattern my own crochet? Become an absurdist playwright? Who knows? My interests are myriad.
And yes, Kelsey, even if I buy the whole château you can still stay there. And what kind of stupid name would Château Andrea be anyway? ^^
