It's not even two o'clock yet, and I'm already frustrated. My mum is out on a walk on a sand-spit somewhere near Norfolk, and I thought this would be a good opportunity to catch up with playing Final Fantasy VII. My firend lent me his old Playstation to play it on. I'm on disk two and have two of the disks that I need. Last time I played it one didn't work because it's a bit scratched, but the other one worked okay, if a little slow.

This time, one doesn't get any further than the PS logo, and the other only reaches the menu and then lets out a loud buzzing noise when I try to load the game. I've tried each disk about fifteen times each, and while one improved slightly (the one that gets to the menu only got to the Squaresoft logo before), I haven't managed to play it at all. This is really annoying because I haven't had a chance to play it for a while, since I can't play when mum's home and I keep forgetting to bring it with me when I visit my friend, who has a PS2 which can actually play it (okay, so it's mainly my fault).

I tried playing other games in between, but Wip3out was no fun because I've got too used to Wipeout Fusion, and Kula World was just irritating because it is. This just made me more wound up.

After I finally gave up with the PS1, I got down the LotR soundtrack CDs that my friend also lent me, and thought I'd do some stuff on the computer while listening to them. I can't listen to them on the computer because they have an anti-piracy system that stops them being useable on a computer, so I put a disk into the DVD player. My mum usually uses it as a CD player, so I thought it would be fine. Well, it didn't work. Obviously the anti-piracy system is triggered by a DVD reader, even if I have no way of ripping them on the DVD player. I therefore had to take the CD player from the kitchen, unplug it, thereby losing all its settings which my mum will complain about later, and play the CD on there instead.

As soon as it started playing, someone next door started destroying their wall, or something similarly noisy. There is an alleyway between our houses too, so it must have been especially loud. Luckily that's stopped now though.

At least the music is calming.
