Неожиданное
Наши исследования в Таджикистане привели к неожиданному результату. Результатом обсуждения возможности их публикации в изданиях организации "Oriental Bird Club" стало изменение в правилах приёма материалов в журналы "Forktail" (ведущий орнитологический журнал по птицам Юго-Восточной Азии) и "BirdingASIA". Вот, для тех, кому это может быть интересно:

I am back again with what I hope you will think is good news.
We had a meeting of our OBC Publications Committee (This is mostly Nigel Collar and myself) last weekend.
We decided on a change in policy towards areas/countries adjacent to the ‘so-called’ boundary between OBC and OSME that I explained to you previously.
In future we shall be very pleased to receive manuscripts from all the following areas:
Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Kazakstan.
If you have any outstanding manuscripts resulting from projects in these areas we will be happy to receive them.
As you had already appreciated, we are very interested in species that are present both within the oriental region (as we already define it) and whose range may extend into these adjacent areas or may be discovered in these adjacent areas for the first time. You are well familiar with Forktail, but may not be so familiar with BirdingASIA the sibling publication. This is not so rigorously reviewed as Forktail as it is designed more for the enthusiast than for the scientist and we are trying to encourage local birdwatchers to make contributions - often their first in English - a language foreign to them. However we have (for example) moved the records of species range extensions to new areas and countries from Forktail to BirdingASIA - this makes more room in Forktail for longer weightier articles.
