~So Fresh~
Jacon is coming, my 2nd con for the year. This year has been pretty slow for me huh?
-Fill a sketch book a month
So this didn’t happen. Right now I’m at book 2.5? About half of what I should have and most is gesture drawings instead of concepts and ideas. I seriously need to do some foliage and I kind of like sketching on the pc instead. I cant help my self but complete works instead of just leaving them as a sketch.
-Attend Life drawings weekly
I attended it a first time and found it was just too late and too far. Also, it was in costume, I want nudes and sadly for almost all life drawing sessions its majority women. I need to draw males and not old/fat males since I know how to draw that already. I need to see the muscles and not have to look up a book. Plus gas is expensive. Instead, I use posemanicas.com but I had the lighting they use in it, and it too is mostly female.
-Complete “Galactic Divine”
So far, I’ve got up to ch.3 tumbed, ch.1 (almost) completed and started on ch.2 pencils. After I’m completely done with ch.1 and the book’s cover I’ll pause a bit and keep working on the tumbs for the whole book while I pencil. So I guess I’m ok. Learning how making a GN with out letting others see can be really tempting and lonely.
-Complete 100 pages of “Intricately” web comic
Not going to happen. I’m farther then I I thought I would for GD so instead I’ll just work on ch1 for the pre launch before the real comic comes out in ‘10. Funny, I’m about 2 years behind on this.
- Make “Intricately” on top 100 list on DD
Not going to happen. There’s no comic
- 50 male illustrations
You know its hard cause I don’t want to draw ‘random pretty guy’, least I get too many people expecting me to draw yaoi. I want a theme and its hard to experiment with men’s clothing.
- 100 background sketches and concepts
I’m doing more of this in GD, We’ll see how it goes
- Have a portfolio to show at NYCC ’10 and/or NYAF 09
I have a portfolio, it depends if I have enough money to go. I do hope to move to NY after school
- Revamp web site portfolio including one for Design and one for my online business
Not yet but will use current site’s design template
- Start online Boutique business
Decided not to start on this just yet because of all the school work and other art I have to do.
- Develop new manga project to submit
Will be done later in year hopefully. I’m still thinking which story I’d want to do next after GD and who I’d want to send it to. Most likely Yen though.
- Break 40, 000 hits on DA
27,831 so far, I say its still plausible able. Funny though, It seems people check out my deviants more then the front page. That’s why I’m keep the front page number more the deviants. If they come my front page, that means they’ve seen my announcements and link my site. That’s what I care about. Sadly though, the average time some one from DA spends on my site is about 5secs lol
- Less procrastination and more organized in working
Hmm, I’ve been trying to keep up with my work hours but I’d say just a little bit of improvement so should I count that?
-Participate in 24hrs comic book day
Yeah, after I heard you’re unable to work for about a week, I ditched this idea.
- Get used to only sleeping 8hrs a day (currently its about 10-12hrs, rarely less then 8)
Nope, still love my sleep though now and then I wake up earlier
-Expand Resource/Reference library (and beyond manga)
Yeah I’ve done a few books buying and have a nice list of more stuff to buy so I’m doing go here.
- Sew 12 items (learning how to sew)
Not buying a machine this year
- Save 5,000$ for Investing.
No to this too, because I decided not to have a summer job this year. I just want to work on my comics and art and may get some commissions on the side so I’ll try to save about 500 or so.
So Instead, I’ve added a few contests and workshops for me to do and see if I can get my name out there more. I have only 2 more cons this year, Jacon and AFO but next year who knows. I’m going to try and clear out as much inventory as I possible can and start a new. New studio colors, art, styles, stuff, books and ideas. I want to change up my portfolio, clear old stuff out and really present my works better.
