WHAT IS UP MY PEOPLE?
First off we've moved to Galveston since Steve has entered the US coast guard. The house is lovely and I will post pics when it is something I'm willing to let people see :-D. Read not a mess here. Things have been going relatively smoothly for us sine our arrival. I mean...for us anyway. The AC wasn't working, we got a new one and that wouldn't stabilize, we have an electric dryer and had to prevail upon a friend to convert our switch. The water heater pilot light went out...and we had no kitchen appliances the day we moved in. Don't worry. We are now fully modernized.
Last weekend my dad got married and my brother and our spouses were both appalled at the lack of class in his new bride's family. Here's the deal. The invitation did not specify dress so I called Daddy to find out what we should show up in. I knew two things....evening wedding and white tablecloth establishment. This being a second wedding for both of them I wasn't sure whether we were dressing to the nines or just sevens. Daddy asked that the men wear suits and the ladies wear dinner dresses. Y'know, the kind you'd wear out if your husband ever took you to establishments that didn't have flashing signs saying "ALL YOU CAN SHOVE DOWN YOUR GULLET!". Misti and I wore nice dresses and the boys wore their suits. Steve wore his service blazer. We looked great. We arrived and the first thing I see is my dad's new wife's sister in a pair of white cotton capris and a black TEE SHIRT. Really? Jackie's mother looked very nice atleast. So the ceremony takes place and people begin arriving for dinner. The dress got worse as they showed up. And the behavior!! One man ordered a beer then threw a fit...a loud fit...when his change was not returned. Simple solution? Enjoy the one beer and do not order another. No...we had to have it out with the waitstaff over that. The owner of my father's company showed up and he and his wife made a bee line for our table since we were the only ones properly attired. Lovely people....though a little strange. Then dinner arrived. The same man who pitched a bitch about his beer? Sent his entire meal back!!! Excuse me? You were given a full menu to choose from. I'm sorry if you misunderstood what you ordered but you need to eat that and relish the fact that you are not paying the 25 dollars a plate! When asked if they could offer a new entree he rudely told them he'd just wait until he could go to McDonald's. Nice. Other than that it was a lovely evening.
After that Steve watched Xander at Misti and Blair's house while we took off for Tim's birthday. I miss those boys! We cut loose and had a blast singing karaoke...read I listened and they sang! I informed everyone that they must visit me or I will be angry. :-D
Now it's the day before my birthday. Jessie is coming for a visit though I'm not real clear on WHEN we're going to see her. hehe. Should have asked shouldn't I? We've got errands to run and a house to clean. and pictures must be placed. More pictures! I don't know if I'm supposed to be going to A&S tomorrow or not. I think there is cake involved. mmmmm cake!
Okay. Xander is going through his dresser. That never bodes well! PEace OUT
