Anyone who knows me well knows that I have had my own dealings with child support and lack of payment. My dad is a prime example of someone who COULD have done more than he did. I fault him, and I blame him...and I'm over it because I have one parent left. My dad financially ruined my mom. My mom financially ruined my dad by dying. I see the humor there. Anyway.
This guy is not a deadbeat. He was paying his arrears AND his regularly scheduled payments. The state claims they didn't know that he was in Iraq. Guess they didn't do their research did they? The Hell? Before you jump in with both feet aren't you supposed to test the water? Did they get ahold of the mother and ask if she wanted ALL the money to be taken in vast amounts quickly financially crippling her child's father? Nope. Why would they? They're out to care for the child.
Maybe I shouldn't be so miffed. Maybe I should. It angers me that no one wanted to step in and enforce my dad when he wasn't paying and my mom was suffering but in another state they are willing to hang a man for trying.
