New Year, same old shit

Jessie, Steve and I made plans to do "something" on New Years Eve. The night before Jess got a call from Beth saying that a couple other friends were getting a hotel room in her area and that we should all come hang with them for the evening. Not having seen Beth and Randy for quite some time I was all systems go. Jess and I arrived at about 8, Steve at about 9. We were being fairly quiet, we did have the computer playing music but I didn't really imagine that it was too loud. Either way. About 11:15 Cedric and I were pondering the correctness of the gator sweat when I heard a foreign voice from the area of the door. I squinted a bit and peered around to see the night manager, probable owner. HE was telling the people towards the front of the room that we all had to leave and that this was NOT a party motel. We said fine, Stacy mentioned that we'd all been drinking and needed a bit of time to sober up. His reply was that it wasn't his problem. We had to leave now. Will then runs to the door and mentions (correctly)that it is in fact his responsibility if we were to leave and something grevious happen to any one of us. The manager stalks off toward the office to phone the police. We all gathered up the few belongings we had in the room, well those of us who were just guests. Steve freaked out a little even though he was sober because of the nature of his job. We gathered off the hotel property, at the Hot Bisquit...yep, classy :-D. The restaurant was closed but it was also off previously mentioned property. A few minutes later the two police officers arrive. They speak with the manager and then roll slowly over to us. The window lowers and an older gentleman asks politely. "Yall aren't the problem are you?" "Oh Yes, sir. That IS us. We're standing here waiting to sober up enough to drive."
"Oh, well you all seem to be standing perfectly fine to me. Want us to excort you to the Valero for some coffee?"

In the end I think the tally has to be a tie. Though we did not get dragged off an beaten by the popo for our surly behavior, neither did the douche who runs the place.
