Hey there, musical theater-loving friends! I'm looking for some audition song suggestions and am hoping you lot might help me out.
Looking for lighter, smiley-er stuff. Sweet, funny, and heartfelt-romantic is good. Ridiculously silly is great. Preferably nothing that goes above the staff in range, but below is excellent. For some reason most of the stuff in my limited repertoire is bitter, dark, and/or vamp-y (yay mezzo stereotypes), and I'd like to get some contrast, but am sort of overwhelmed by my extreme ignorance when it comes to musicals outside my favorite 10 or so.
Oh, and preferably no Sondheim or Bernstein, since I've already got a couple of standbys from each of them.
Any favorites come to mind?
