Whew, way to fail at livejournal, self.

Item 1: I had an absolutely amazing visit home. I love my family. My brother is adorable and so profoundly a college freshman that it hilariates me to no end. Dogger is definitely in her autumnal years but still quite spry, as demonstrated when we took in a stray puppy for a couple of days, and Dogger chased him around the backyard trying to get him to play with her (he was greatly intimidated). Stephanopolous and my Darling Diva are in glorious, blooming post-college adulthood, already slightly jaded by grad school but clearly munching down their opportunities with unabated appetite. We all cried when we had to say goodbye.
Item 2: I am going to Chicago! I'll be there a week from today. To see Jessey before she goes off to find and tame her baby elephants. I'm thrilled about this in particular because it means I can get the hell out of Minnesota, which is getting on my nerves right now, the way it always does in January.
Item 3: I'm working on my first Real Arias now in voice lessons. 'O mio Fernando', fancy meeting you again. You sound noticeably better after four years of absence. Is you, or is it me? I wonder...
Item 4: ATTENTION, because this is the exciting one: I think I'm going to Japan again. End of March, beginning of April. I still can't quite believe this is happening, but I appear to be on the verge of buying the tickets and whatnot. YESSSSSSSSS. ... さて、少し日本語を勉強するべきだね。話し方の全てを忘れたから。(Heck, I don't even know if that (<---) was remotely correct.) ACK.
