Katy and I were just talking about this, so... another poll....
Do you have a memory from childhood in which you were conscious of being very small in comparison to everything around you?
I'm realizing that I don't really have any memories in which I had an awareness of being small. I have my very intense coconut popsicle memory, of my mother kneeling down outside of Trader Joe's on a scorching summer afternoon and sharing a coconut popsicle with me -- when she knelt, she was still a little taller than me, so I can't have been more than three years old. I also remember being about seven and suddenly realizing that I didn't need the little footstool to reach the kitchen sink anymore. But no memories in which I was actually aware at the time of being small.
Katy said she remembers reading Calvin and Hobbes cartoons as a little kid, and noticing that Calvin was knee-high to all the adults, and thinking 'I've NEVER been that small'.
