On Friday I went to see Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest as it seems everyone else that I know did. It was something I had planned to do with the one friend in my area that I know (that they are a girl is besides the point she isn't my girlfriend though we did say that we were in the past). Anyway she was smart enough to suggest going to an early showing (smart in the fact we got there and already the 7:30 and 9:00 shows were sold out) we ended up seeing it at 4:00 and didn't get out until 6:30, long movie in that regards.
Anyway as no one else is spoiling the movie for others I won't be doing the same I will just say that is very well done and agree with one of my friends here that the critics vastly underscore it (but then I mostly disagree with the critics anyway as they never seem to be promote any summer movies as Oscar material). I do however find it rather unsettling that to me the movie seems to play like Star Wars on the sea (doesn't help that half the credits of the movie seem to mention LucasArts subsidaries). I am pleased that Disney gives homage to their other sea movie they did so long ago "20,0000 Leagues Under the Sea" by having Davy Jones play "Toccata in B" like Captain Nemo did in that movie, so much so that I want to get the soundtrack for Pirates 2.
I will still be going up to Rhode Island leaving next Tuesday the 11th and won't be back till the 18th or 19th, this is for my brother's wedding on the 15th and the fact the family of me, mother and father are driving up there under doctor's orders. I still have planned on the 13th to be around Boston to spend time with any local furs, found the perfect place to do so in that of the Aquarium up there, my uncle who lives in the area says it is an hour's train ride from where I will be staying in Rhode Island.
