2014 FIFA World Cup - WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME?!?!
Just a super brief post in order to make clear my current thought process, which roughly boils down to "GODDAMNIT PORTUGAL ARRRGH."
On the up side, I am loving this whole happening-in-a-nearby-time-zone thing! I totally don't have to be up at 3 am to watch matches this go around. Blissfully ignoring the irony that, due to the new baby, I'm kind of already up at 3 am anyway. SHHH LET ME ENJOY MY MOMENT.
At least it was an awesome game? Like, I'm torn between how fun it was to watch (making me happy) and the fact that we didn't win (making me frowny). I'm under no illusions that we're going to actually WIN this thing, and I'm not as crazy invested as I would be for field hockey or cricket, BUT STILL. I feel disloyal, lol. At any rate, aside from the US, I'm tentatively rooting for Italy, but fully expecting Spain to win because I pretty much always expect Spain to win.
Oh well, at least Jermaine Jones had the chance to be sexy-awesome. Next up, USA vs. Germany. None of you guys are from Germany, right? So I can totally be all GERMANY YOU ARE GOING DOWNNNNNN without insulting anyone? (Germany totally isn't going down though, blargh. I hate saying it, but realistically, the US kind of doesn't have much of a chance there ;_____;)
Next year, the cricket world cup? THAT IS WHEN I WILL BE FULL OUT INSANE, HEADS UP ON THAT.
