Chickie's honeymoon
My sister's wedding was last Saturday; she & her husband left for their honeymoon in St. Lucia in the Carribean on Sunday evening.
Hurricane Dean (from what I can tell) hit the area Wednesday/Thursday and is currently strengthening into a Cat 2. A mandatory curfew was issued on St. Lucia at midnight last night.
Still no word from either of them. Calling the hotel phone gets us a busy signal, calling Chickie's cell phone last night went straight to voicemail, calling her cell today gets nothing at all.
No idea yet what the damage is to the resort but local correspondants (stormcarib.com) are mentioning houses blown away, power lines & trees down, huge boulders, sea debris, & boats on the roads.
**EDIT - Mom got an email from Chickie's hubby. They're okay. A rep from the resort also had a report that their guests are okay, the resort is operational, and they have generators.
