New Hobby...Kinda
First post of the new year and not even half a year after my last one. haha Well, the winter quarter is almost over, and I'm still in my math class. Woo! I have to pass it now. X'D Already been advised for spring, and if I get the classes I plan, I'm going to go rage mode. All in all, school still sucks.
I've also picked up crocheting again. Haven't done any of this since I was little, around 10 or so. I've made one glove so far, and boy, it's fucked up. Working on its twin at the moment, and it doesn't look like it'll fair any better. X'D Figures. I'm trying to finish it so I can start something else. Poppet is saying a beanie, but I'm tired of working in rounds. >_<;; But if I can find out how to use a graph to insert a design for something worked on a round, I'll do it. Probably a brimmed beanie since I like those. Can use some of the boxes I have around to insert into the brim, though I'd need some duck tape so it doesn't get soggy. Though, that would make it too stiff, maybe. Meh, we'll see. Could just go a soft brim.
I also got me an Assassin's Creed watch finally. <3 The pins to take out some links were a bitch getting out then back in though. Chipped the back of my tooth some from it...... I also got me a used Nintendo DS Lite. Probably stupid since that was my food money, but eh. I can go without for about a week or two. Was only $23 plus shipping, and it came with a case. I just need games once it comes in. hahaha
I've also been trying to get my hands on the Kichiku Megane series. I have the visual novel games, and I think I have a group bookmarked that's working on a fan translation of it. If it were Japanese, I'd just use the text hook program I use on those games to yank it and try translating it myself when I get bored, but it's Chinese. Fail for me. I'm also trying to find the manga scans and novel scans. X'D I'm missing Vol. 4 of the manga and the entire novel. Wish they'd start translating yaoi/bl games into English. I'd buy them. There's a market for it now compared to when they tried, so I really wish they would. Even if it were digital download only. I'll keep dreaming. Also trying to get the Ao no Exorcist manga scans. Only have up to chapter 39, though I'm not sure how many are out now. I think it's at around 42 or 43, or that's what I saw at some point. The C&D on it recently has made it hard to get my hands on them, kinda. Ok, not really. It simply made the easy route I wanted to take unavailable. I need to work on actually getting copies of the manga I want to start reading before they go poof too. I should be able to order the manga I'm missing from a few of my sets at some point this year. That'll make me happy. I'd also be happy if the mangakas would finish or work on some of the other series I'm waiting on. X"D -keeps dreaming-
I have to compete in a USKA karate tournament this Saturday too. It's that or write a 10-12 page paper for class. I'll get to judge....joy..... -sigh- I won't be able to take the karate class this spring though. I'm going to attempt to get myself to go to the night classes, but I doubt I'll manage.
Hmm...this has got pretty long compared to my usual short rants. Though I guess this is what happens when I'm basically talking to myself. hahaha Maybe I'll get my brother to make an LJ account just to see what he'd do and post. He'd just forget it existed probably. Back to crocheting this mutant glove. Once I know my skill is leveled enough, I'm going to be making stuff for people. -nods- Wonder if I could make some money off of this hobby later down the road. -continues with dreaming-
