things that made me smile today, in no particular order:
my sis sent me a kick-ass necklace with a jingly amulet! i love all the little indian bells that constantly tinkle as i walk. we took photos, kit. i'll post them on facebook for you. :) i think i may just reuse your box to send out the goodies i've been saving up for you.
emily (my partner at work) wants me to bring her back a voodoo skull. we were sitting in the office finishing up my to-do list for the managers for next week, and i said, "so, you want anything from new orleans? a skull maybe?" totally kidding, but her eyes lit up and she said she'd been looking for a skull to live on her coffee table. all righty then. skull it is.
the weather was absolutely, divinely perfect today. mid 60s to low 70s, sunny but with a nice breeze. i had to go into work for a few hours, but when i finally got back (after sitting in rush hour for an hour on 95), ben and i took a walk down to the charles and strolled along the river for a while. we watched the ducks and geese hanging out. i skipped. we laughed and held hands. it was a good time.
new hanson music! omg, you guys... it's really freaking good. and i don't know who they have working for them these days, but the website is vastly improved. it's all simplified and pop-art inspired. i dig it. i actually downloaded some tunes legally, that's how excited i was. anyone want me to share?
i conjured up a nice little dinner for us tonight, topped off by a belated birthday cupcake. ben's birthday was a week ago, but he was chaperoning a retreat for his 8th grade class in pennsylvania. ixnay on the actual b-day. we decided we'd wait and celebrate in nola, but i couldn't not get him the cupcake with a b on it. i think it was supposed to be a baseball and the b stood for the red sox, but it's all good. he liked it. i still don't know what to get him for a gift, though. i have the germ of an idea, but i can't decide if it's cute or cheesy.
i'm so excited to not be working for the next 9 days!! wahoooo!!!!!
