Poll Christopher Walken Thongs

Christopher Walken's Cafe Press Site

Edited 11:36 pm. gniko thinks the site is probably fake. Oh well, it was a cool thought. He could've recited the watch speech from Pulp Fiction as part of his inaugral address. That would've so ruled.

Spoof site, owned by Go Daddy Software.

I think it's got to be illegal somehow to use someone's name to make profit without their consent.

The link to print out a campaign poster just sends you to their cafepress store, their Contact Us form does just the same, with a fake "error 404."

Thank you. How did you figure that out? Go Daddy's like a domain registering site, right? Could you tell who really owns the site?

Er, registered through Go Daddy.

One of the sites was registered to a guy named Flynn, and the new one doesn't supply contact information, just an address for the "admin" in Los Angeles.

Has a bunch of stuff to look all this up on :)

Thanks :/ It's too bad--I was getting used to the idea of him being president. He could tap dance during the inaugaration.

I was semi-excited til I realized all the photos were stock and from imdb..

Though I wonder if this'll get him a bunch of write-ins? :)

Maybe! If I don't like the democrat who gets the nomination, and I don't like any of the independents, I may end up voting for him ;)

I've sent an email to Mr. Walken's PR people cause whoever set that site up isn't saying "oh! and this isn't really christopher walken's real campaign site!"

They're directing people with a reputable appearing site to their store with merch that's marked up beyond the base price for those items.

Now, if I'd set it up myself I'd be asking what size you'd like that thong in :)

**LJ wouldn't let me post this before**

Thanks :) I'm surprised they already don't know about it--some of the dates on the website are for August (though the page could've just been put up yesterday for all we know). I also found this. What the hell is Wikiality? Does Stephen Colbert know he's being used for that? This is a bit maddening!

The more I looked at the Walken site, the more I hoped it was fake. That quote on the front page is horrible: "If you want to build a house, build a house" or whatever. Then in the press release (I think that's where it was) he supposedly says he wants to walk down the street and be adored by children. I'm sure it's a great ego boost, but that's what parades are for. Weird.
