So, the 'hen' I had so graciously been allowing to live in my yard...is really a rooster. Goodbye.
A few weeks ago, a feral chicken wandered into my yard and decided to stay. I don't have chickens...I do find them tasty, but I don't eat eggs, so no thanks. I was slowly trying to find it a home, and had done so...when it finally felt comfortable enough to crow me awake. So, so annoying. And illegal, since I'm in city limits, but whatever.
I am gonna call animal control...ok, ok, I can try to call a bird rescue place, but I can imagine them pouncing on that one... "Ah, yes, a chicken. Ahem. We don't DO chickens." Probably waiting their whole career to say that one.
Anyway, I still want it to find a home, but I have one roommate ready and willing to throw it to the dogs next door. No really.
SO...anybody want a rooster?
UPDATE...y'all probably know by now anyway... I found a home for the rooster (Now known as Churchill, because of where he was found) at a farm with other chickens! His new owner loves his pretty feathers and he is happy and well fed! :D
