Earth Hour
Earth Hour is a global event wherein people and organisations around the globe will turn off their lights for one hour, to mark the potential impact of individual action on the planet.
In most of the world, this takes place on Saturday 29 March 2008 at 8pm (to each his own 8pm, of course).
In Israel this takes place on Thursday the 27th, possibly to not clash with Sabbath issues.
